How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I don't recall me providing you with advise on how to get compensation for you home in England. Oh thats right, you weren't invaded, you weren't kicked out of your house by troops and you do not have some strangers living in your house right now.

You are not welcome in this subject of which you know nothing about. I have had my property taken from me and someone else is having dinner in our dining room tonight. You know nothing.

Nor were they persecuting minorities, burning their houses down or killing people, look at it from this angle maybe you paid the price for your sins.

If Northern Cyprus is such a paradise to live in then why do all those people feel the need to cross over the border every day for work, healthcare, shopping etc? Also, why is Mr Talat even engaging in negotiations? After all, if you've got all the marbles why let anyone else play with them?

Somehow I can't help thinking that it's not all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows over there...

Seems you are a rookie to the Cyprus (Real) Problem.

In the beginning.............................

Well I've got a pretty good idea on the whole but i've admitted that i'm no expert. I can understand the situation from the GC side, but i'm working on the principle that it's only fair to get the TC side in order to get a balanced view.

My problem is when I encounter comments like the narrative in the first post that paints a different picture to the sentiments expressed in this one:

http://www.cyprus-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=17887

Obviously there are different opinions etc but it would be nice if someone would just post the truth about what it's like living in the 'TRNC' without all the distorted facts, political propaganda and swipes at the GCs.

How could you have missed the swipes at the TCs. You have a lot of catching up to do. It will take time but you will be better informed in due course.

Sorry, I meant that perhaps someone living in the TRNC might post and say 'look, this is how it really is over here' without all the usual 'banter' and accusations we get on most topics.

Pathetic argument.

The RoC still recognises the legal ownership and title deeds of the TCs.

It is the Turkish Army which has stolen GC lands in 74 when it invaded the island. And it is people like you who are an accessory to this crime by purchaseing stolen GC property.

With due respect to your feelings on the property issue, can I assume you have seen the deeds roseandchan have or the deeds of the property they have acquired?

all i was saying was that it would be a better way to do it. my friend lost his house in pafos, he now has a house at bogaz. its not rocket science to work out that his house in pafos is woth more than his house now. would he go back and live in pafos now, no. in a solution there will have to be common ground. not one price for greek cypriot land and another for turkish cypriot land. viewpoint i'm sorry for your loss but don't take it out on me. i'm not sitting in your dinning room.

I will say whatever I like. I challenge her to visit the Land Registry of the Republic of Cyprus and cross check her title deed to see whether she is in possession of stolen property or not.

Then you would have no issue with conducting a property check at the Land Registry of the RoC.
