How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Yes, but you forget that the 'legal' goverment can do and sequestre any property it likes.

I wonder if the Paphian Airport was built on 'Illegal' land? Piratis, please note, more illegalities.

That happens all over the world. Even in Australia, the government has the right to take your property if it is in the greater good and destined for infrasture development such as roadworks, airports etc.

The only requirement is for fair remuneration and compensation based on market values.

The fact of the matter is that the RoC is liable to pay for compensation to the legal owners of the land. The legal owners need only apply for their remuneration provided that they reside in the RoC for 6 months. Alternatively, if a solution is reached, compensation will be paid to the legal owners by default.

If Northern Cyprus is such a paradise to live in then why do all those people feel the need to cross over the border every day for work, healthcare, shopping etc? Also, why is Mr Talat even engaging in negotiations? After all, if you've got all the marbles why let anyone else play with them?

Somehow I can't help thinking that it's not all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows over there...

Its not "sunshine, lollipops and rainbows " anywhere in the world. We in the TRNC are on par with many European countries our problem is being unrecognized which leave us dependent on Turkey the only country which has provided us with support. This does not allow us to develop like other countries, neither economically or socially that why Presient Talat is at the negotiating table to try and find resolve to a long outstanding problem its recognition vs land, otherwise if there was not land carrot at the end of the rainbow the GCs would not give us the time of day let alone sit at the table, they have always been unable to digest we are equals not only as individuals but also as a communities, they rely on the numerical advantage to push us out of the way and create a GC state run by Gcs with us as just another minority.

Wrong they will not get anything until a solution is found and what they get is a fraction of the real value.

roseandchan appear to be Brit ex-pats hiding from the British Police.

They will be screwed if there is ever a solution or "TRNC" signs an extradition treaty with the UK!

i think if a solution is found then together bothsides should sit down and make a set price say per meter for any land on both sides of the island. thats the only fair way. todays market values only represent which areas had investment money and tourist money, like kyrenia and pafos. both have higher property prices. not everyone will be happy but whatever the decition will be it won't please everyone.

I don't recall me providing you with advise on how to get compensation for you home in England. Oh thats right, you weren't invaded, you weren't kicked out of your house by troops and you do not have some strangers living in your house right now.

You are not welcome in this subject of which you know nothing about. I have had my property taken from me and someone else is having dinner in our dining room tonight. You know nothing.
