GREEK CYPRIOT UNITED DEMOCRATS VISIT CTP

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Bananiot » Tue Jun 03, 2008 1:45 pm

One thing I have never been called before is fascist. I suppose there is a first time fro every thing. Perhaps you can also explain what makes me a fascist. Still, DT, you make exaggerated claims. EDI never received plentiful funding from the government. The governemnt funding is directly proportional to the vote received and the fundings were never enough for the renting of an office, even. However, would it be more appropriate for me to say that I fully agree with Nikos Anastasiades on the Cyprus problem? He is the leader of the biggest party in Cyprus. Oh, I now agree with the line pursued by Christofias! Am I in the majority now and does this make me more legitimate to speak and perhaps less of a fascist?

Halil, I know the story with Papapetrou in 1974. He even took a shot with a second world war riffle at a Turkish tank. I think he was lucky because probably the Turksih soldiers were under orders not to fire back at the time.

You make no room in your mind for anyone supporting the ideologies of a former President of Cyprus, You consider all supporters of a certain movement as medieval and backward. You claim that you have been living in a fascists state for the pst 5 years and that no one was allowed to speak out against it (You, a govt employee who has done nothing but speak out against it) You refuse to come to terms with the fact that 76% of the population voted against a suicidal plan to exterminate our republic. You believe in labelling individuals as fascists just because of the team they support.

The fact that you have changed your mind and are now supporting Christofias in this govt and not in the previous govt is your own business and you have your own reasons for it. I have never comdemned you for believing in what you believe, I have however disagreed with it. That is our difference, I hadn't labelled you as a Nenekis when we met but obviously you have me labelled as a Tpap supporter for believing in what I believe.(which is not lowering my pants for a good old fashioned shafting by Erdogan).

I belong and have always belonged to a party which you yourself could have labelled as the spiritual home of EOKA B. Yet now you are first in line to support them.

What are you talking about DT? For a start, you, just like someone else in the forum, do not seem to understand the difference between an appointed government employee who is "forced" to follow an official line (quite properly so) and someone who has the governemnt as employer in a non political post. I do not need to keep changing my views on anything in order to appease whoever is in charge. I have many differences with the current government, on educational issues for example, and I express them (not in the forum for there is no room for such topics here) and nobody remainds me that I work for the governemnt. You cannot get more backward than this. I really cannot understand why people keep bringing this point up. I must be the only member of the forum whose job is brought up, not regularly but at all. Why is this? Really, I am geeting very tired of this. Just leave my bloody job out of this.

You claim that I am a fascist because I have no time (even to think about) for papadopoulos and his supporters and because I think that a certain movement (name the bloody thing!) is medieval and backward. So, this is what a fascist is all about? Really DT!

Over the past five years I and 100 000 thousand Greek Cypriots that voted for the solution were called traitors by the PRESIDENT who went on to claim that we were paid by foreign powers and that we spend our time in the courts of the enemy. We were told by the PRESIDENT (the highest authority) that we repeat in Greek what the Turks say in Turkish and you come here to tell me that we were fairly and squarely treated by the governemnt of Papadopoulos and that we should be sending thank you letters to him for allowing us to keep our job? You have a nerve DT! Yes, I felt I was living in a police state for five whole years! Does this make me a fascist?

Just because 76% voted in a certain way does it mean that I should change my views overnight? Or perhaps I should go and hang myself in the city square, just like Chrysostomos asked me to do and people behind him (of a certain movement) were clapping! That is fascism, DT!

I believe that people are fascists because of the team they support, you write. For a start, I do not give three pence about football (if this is what you are talking about). Then, my eldest son is an APOEL supporter and I do not remember ever calling him a fascist. Where the hell did you get this notion?

I have not changed my mind a nd now support Christofias. I support what he has done so far, taking the Cyprob out of the stalemate that Papadopoulos kept it for 4.5 years. I support his efforts to find a solution and I support the way he goes about it. Does this make me a fascist? Really DT?

I know you are not a Papadopoulos supporter (but probably he was your second best choice) and I fail to see in what way I labelled you a Papadopoulos supporter. Again, explain to me how this makes me a fascist.

Lastly, you claim that I could have labelled your party as the spiritual home of EOKA B. You are placing the bar really low DT. I wish you would come back to your senses.

How about talking about all these over a beer?

Dear friends DT and Bananiot ,

we all have our differences .we must find between our differences such a way that we all can satisfied .

we must be tolerant for each other . this is the my main argument all the time .

did you notice what happening all the time . when ever some one tries to talk anything about north .same guns always attactks them .they never gives any chance for them to speak up or to do their request or to get any information by blaming each other or calling everybody thief ....etc ...etc....
didn't you notice it does not help at all .
it shouldn't take such a long time to buildup bridges between two sides . the way we are behaving it will not help at all at the who will suffer . we will suffer .İf you are thinking only TC's are suffering ... you are making big mistakes .by reading the news paper articles or man made stories at the internet it does not shows us the real life .

We're not getting through to each other on this. You're right, I'll explain better when I next see you. As always nothing personal.

Just testing you. A good answer, however. Its called remora and is a smallish fish that adheres to bigger fish, eats their parasites and nobody goes near it. Especially when it attaches to a shark.
