Holiday Village Aliathon - Paphos

Postby lyndabelle78 » Fri May 30, 2008 1:29 pm

Has anyone been to the Holiday Village Aliathon recently?? We have booked to go to this hotel next year (Oct 09) :D and have heard mixed reports. I am trying to find out what it's like. We have booked a Superior Apartment and I'd like to know if these are in the Old part or the new Fishing Village area. Your comments would be appreciated.

Why have you booked it, then asked for reviews?

Just curious

I actually looked at reviews BEFORE i booked the holiday, however there have been delays in the building of the new area, so I am therefore looking to see if anyone has been recently (as my post says) to see how it is coming along. We don't actually travel till next year so I'm sure it will be fine.

Do you have any info for us or are you just commenting????

Just commenting. I am sure you will be fine. I know the place and have seen the new apartments go up. There nice,. The location is now quite built up compared to what it was 5-10 years ago.

Yes, been a few times but that was approx 15 years ago!!!! I'm trying to work out where it is exactly. Is it at the tomb of the kings end or the opposite way from the harbour??

The brochure looks good but then they always spruce it up a bit don't they!!

The massive Fishing Village (sic) development is now completed, with it Mexican and 'Cypriot' restaurants, supplementing the existing eating place and cafe. There is car hire, banks, eating places, shops nearby. Paphos Harbour is 20 minutes walk away. It is not in the TOTK, but the other side of the old Winery, along the strip where most of the new hotels are built.

There is a pool, tennis courts, green bowls etc; the owner, Galatia, is a very nice person - providing you do not work for here and get something wrong LOL! There always seem loads of staff about.

Having attended social events there, I would eat out; but yes, it is a pleasant place and you should have a great time.

Hi,
I too was a bit nervous about the Aliathon not being finished as we are booked to go in August. I found quite a bit of information on the Holiday-Truth.com website along with some photo's of the new fishing village.
Not sure if the link will work if not if you go on the website and go to Discussion Forums then Cyprus holidays and there is a discussion titled Aliathon becoming new holiday village and the photo's are on page 15 and have been uploaded by 'afilip'. They look great and we can't wait to go now, I hope this is of some help.
