Agree with jumpers and coats, we too did not realise just how cold the winter months are. You may be wearing shorts in the day time, but those cold and yes, bitter nights, HUH!

Now that we have Ikea and supermarkets/department stores vying for business, products have improved and to some extent so have prices.

Bring stuff you cannot live without - a favourite sauce or certain type of shampoo (ask and we will gladly inform you if they are available here!) I know packing all this kind of stuff may seem odd, but it may make you settle in quicker! Having as much of 'home' will really help!

Good quality pots and pans are quite expensive so if you are bringing your items over in a container, bring as much of these items as you can!

As you are coming out in summer, not many clothes required - just lots of suncream and changes of costumes!

And as much water as you can carry / afford to ship

That comes without saying! (What a silly expression that is really!)

Yeh, right. 50 ml max water allowance travelling from the UK. It will evaporate as soon as the door plane oens.

You can buy as much water as you want once you go through customs, read security check...you might pay a small fortune for it, but you can carry it on board...

I thought all 'liquids' had to be carried in a see-through plastic, resealable bag with 100mls limit per bottle/container? (Alcohol being the exception of course!)

Security at Heathrow couldn’t find their own arses with an instruction manual. Pathetic.

You have a harder time if you wear a beard as I found out when I traveled at the beginning of the month.

It is a well known phenomenon that beards reduce aerodynamic properties by increasing drag ...... 8)

Yes correct...but different countries have different rules...Singapore for example...If you are coming from Europe to OZ or visa versa, they will not accept your duty free drinks...you will lose them...

But in any case we are talking about water here...the point is you can buy as much as you want once you go through customs...to carry on board....
