I see some T/C getting upset that we do not accept that the Annan plan is "finely balanced". This not just my opinion, this is the opinion of the majority of Greek Cypriots and it is not going to change.
True, it's not going to change with all the propaganda happenning on your side. If GCs spent more time to read the plan, then they would know that "Annan plan is a confederation", "Annan plan creates two independent states" and all that imaginary claims are not true. But instead they believe what the politicians say. I'm not the only one saying that Annan plan is finely balanced and fair, the whole Western world agrees with me.
The only way we could still be discussing the Annan plan is if the Turkish side accepts the proposal of AKEL and the referenda are delayed. Otherwise on April 25th the Annan plan will be part of history.
Ok, if you are so sincere about further discussing the Annan plan after May 1st, then why don't we postpone Republic of Cyprus joining EU as well? In this way, we'll not have to worry about new dynamics where Greek side in EU representing the whole island, and we can just focus all our attentio on the Annan plan. Do you accept that? I'm sure not.
Turkey says that will go around the world and demand the recognition of the TRNC. I really wonder how this will help them, since if TRNC is recognized then we will have absolutely no motive to help Turkey continue its European course
After all these years, TCs started a mini revolution in the north for peace and unity, and that brought a finely balanced plan widely accepted by the whole world, and now your side says "No". Why should TCs still be punished for your "No"? And how exactly are you going to ask your European friends not to recognize TRNC and block Turkey's EU course, when you rejected a plan that they supported so much?
So what will Turkish Cypriots do the day after the referenda? Would you be willing to start discussions for a solution that will be acceptable by Greek Cypriots, or you would rather join Turkey and demand recognition of TRNC?
First we will ask the whole world to stop punishing us for your mistakes and I'm sure somebody will listen this time. And we would be willing to continue discussions for an Annan plan type solution. Don't expect us to run from north to RC, like East Germans did from East Germany to West. That's just wishful thinking. You might be opposed to the Annan plan now, but sooner or later, you'll understand that it's the only solution at the moment.
