Ah what a shame!

Thought I'd find some witty discussion around colloquial Greek sayings that would expand my rather limited knowledge of the language.

But alas, was not to be.

Is "koreetsee" greek and "gori" a more colloquial Cy ? Same meaning - girl.

Thanks Bill
Am I going to get away with speaking greek in Cyprus, or am I wasting my time, cos no-ones going to understand me? Should I learn Cypriot? (Dunno where to get a course for that though)

Excuse my ignorance.

Gori is pronounced the same as koree (which is shortened from koreetsee)

You can go further and extend koreetsee to korreetsaki .. which is "little girl" :D
