Is there a chance?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Realism is not something that most Cypriots (whatever flavour) can understand.

Let's wait for the barrage of abuse now.

 It is the TCs that are always looking back to the past and continuously reminding us of the atrocities and use it as an excuse for either maintaining the status quo or for negotiating a democratically unfair and discrinatory comprehensive settlement.

Oh really ?

Perhaps you had better go back and read the majority of GC post's which use the "Cyprus is 2000 years Greek" arguement as the base for all their debtaes...Sheesh, talk about looking back :?

At least you are man enough to acknowlege the atrocities against TC's unlike your ring leaders in this circus whom claim that not one TC was touched by EOKIST'S.

Will you acknowledge the atrocities committed against the GCs?

Do you acknowledge the fact that the Turkish invasion murdered 10,000+ GCs?

Do you acknowledge the fact that 160,000 GCs were ethnically cleansed from the occupied areas and were never allowed to return to their homes?

Do you acknowledge the fact that 1,852 GCs were missing? Their fate is only now being uncovered with the discovery of mass graves?

Do you acknowledge the plundering of important Orthodox religious sites and antiquities?

Or do you believe that that it was only TCs that suffered?

So i guess the answer to my original post is no by both sides?

Yes*

It is unfortunate that so many chose to give up their lives to fight for the merciless EOKA cause. Between internal GC fighting and Mehmetcik, I'm suprised the number was not greater.

Yes, I agree that there was a people exchange as a result of the unrest. Where possible and realistic, I hope to see every refugee on all sides to be compensated for their losses. This can only happen when all parties sort out their differences and come to an agreement.

Yes, and I look forward to see the complete verdict to how and by who they were allegedly killed by.

Paphitis wrote:Do you acknowledge the plundering of important Orthodox religious sites and antiquities?

Yes. All religious sites must be guarded, protected and preserved. The neglect by any side is unacceptable.

No, the British and the Karpaz donkeys suffered too.

*How many GC's were massacred by ruthless EOKA "freedom" fighters ?

I think most of us are willing to move forward to a brighter future and leave the past where it belongs. The intention of my post was to just outline the fact that it is the TC hardliners who will not allow this to happen. It is also fascinating how many TCs will blame us for all kinds of attrocities but at the same time are not balanced or unbiased enough to acknowledge their very own demons.

Can we stop blaming each other? What's done is done, nothing can make any of it right. Horrible things are done in life, let alone in War. I'm not saying it's an excuse or should be forgotten, but if we keep blaming each other we'll never move on.

That's not the problem. The problem is what is happening TODAY! Turkish troops occupy 36.7% of RoC illegally, refugees are not allowed to return to their homes, there is a separatist illegal partitionist regime called the "TRNC", etc., etc.

I agree that's the problem for both sides. But if we don't look forward then we won't find a solution to today's problem.

What do you propose?

Thanks Gabira.

You have proven my point.

According to you, everyone else suffered (TCs, British and Karpaz Donkeys) except for the GCs.

I thank you very much for proving your bias and thus outlining your propoganda and misinformation.

Come on Paphitis, please stop manipulating and changing what I said. Where did I write "except for the GC's ?". They are your words not mine. Please apologise.

Common sense should prevail that by my acknowledgement of some GC deaths, some GC's suffered too. The line you are highlighting was written with tongue in cheek.

You still have not learnt.

Again you are highlighting your very own bias. Please try to be more balanced in your argument.

The so called balance that you are requesting will be reciprocated when you can critique the unbalanced writings of your own circle.

Highlighting my valid response does not make it biased. I clearly acknowledged what you asked. You simply choose to ignore the truth in it.
