Thats my point. And slowly slowly this will be extended through Turkeys accession negotiations...
Full enforvement will of course come with a solution but if you think the solution will LEGALISE whatever illegal is happening now at the occupied areas you are dreaming. The best you can expect is a no solution for a period of 10-15 years. Then what?

My point is, that despite what you may think, the RoC or the EU for that matter has no means to control what happens here in the north re development and sale of land that was GC pre 74 be it by EU citizens or anyone else. A view echoed in this article.

http://www.cyprus-mail.com/news/main.ph ... 6&cat_id=1

THE government said yesterday it would pull out all stops to thwart the exploitation of Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied north, though conceding that the continued division of the island was a considerable impediment.

But Interior Minister Andreas Christou was more cautious.

“Admittedly, we lack the means to definitively put an end to this practice… only a solution to the Cyprus problem could achieve that,” he remarked.

“Still, we shall use all other means to try and slow down the phenomenon.”

You should thank us by allowing you to speak Greek and practice your Orthodox Christianity ( ). I wonder what would happen to you under Spanish or Venetian, or French rule. You would start your messages with "Bonjour". lol

Brother, the RoC isnt starving the Turkish Cypriots, Turkey is doing that by creating the breakaway state. Like I said, If a Turkish Cypriot comes to the RoC, they can enjoy the same freedoms of other Cypriot citizens. At the same time, RoC is pushing for the multi million cash injection in the north...but Talat keeps rejecting it as he wants direct trade for a stolen state within another state. This is not the sign of someone who wants reunification but more the sign of someone who wants permanent partition, as direct trade would be a long term solution.

Also, how can anyone say all the Greeks were killing all the Turks, when there was intercommunal violance between the two communities and the large majority of people who lost there ancestrol houses did not care about politics. This stroy about Greeks killing Turks and Turkey comming in to save the TC is bollocks. What about the people who lost there houses and had no care for politics!? People like Erolz are portraying a very much selective and ideological history.

main source dude, any tc who stayed after 1974 or decides to move to south now has no rights at all, you cannot vote or be part of an organisation, how can the ROC claim to represent the tc when they have since 1974 to today as we speak been chewing our human rights and practicing second class citizenship on the tc, we cannot claim our land back and live on it and one tc that tried to fight it in courts is being fucked around and the case will never finish, if you doubt anything i say then all it takes is one phone call to the beloved tassos cyprus and then you will be as shocked as a virgin on her wedding night who found out her husband is hung like a horse and sex hurts like a bitch the first time.

So why dont any Turkish Cypriots take there case to the ECHR?...i honestly really would like to see this happen. Anyway, I read of one person who got his house back, as two old woman who were refugees agreed to move out. I also know of a halt on building on TC land, therefore, I badly want to see a TC take RoC to the ECHR for their land back.

Ypu have said it before, that TC in the south have the same rights as GC and you were wrong the first time you said it and you arte still wrong this time as well. Officaly we do not have the same rights as GC in the south and unofficaly the evidence of perecution of TC living in the south is legion.

TP is saying he will agree to the EU aid to the north (that is in fact less than Turkey gives us EVERY YEAR) provided of course it is on his terms and involves us giving defacto recognition to the RoC as a the sole legitimate government of all Cypriots. This is not the sign of someone seeking renuification it is a sign of someone seeking to use EU entry of the South to force TC to accept what is unacceptable to them. It is in short economic blackmail. If that is your idea of working towwards unification then I despair for the future.

This from the man who claimed that Makarios abandond the persuit of ENOSIS in 1960! There was no 'parity' in what occured from 63 onwards in Cyprus. GC were numerical larger, had control of the state and all it's powers, had arms and weapons and a willingness to use them against TC far exceeding anything the TC had. It was not 25% of the GC population driven from their homes in this period and forced to live in enclaves. Yes there was violence on both sides and innocents on both sides died at the hands of extermists on both sides. However to imply there was an 'equality' of suffering or illegal acts in this period is beyond a selective idoelogical history - it is just lying. The fact is when the balance of power was in your favour (from 60-74) you (GC) cared little or nothing for the rule of law and democracy and human rights. If you had cared 1/10th as much as you now proclaim these ideals the island would not be divided today.

brother,

TCs have chosen to "starve." and this starvation is at the expense of the human rights of GCs.

If TCs really cared about ending the occupation then they would propose a plan that would be acceptable to both communities. (No this plan does not have to eliminate the community's political voice).

All you have to say is everyone gets to come back and the people will probably vote for it. And if they dont, then you probably get to end your decades of "Starvation" either way...

Magik you know it is not as black and white as that, but the fact stands that the day the caretaker goverment of the ROC decides to uphold the constitution and give the tc all their rights back is the day we all start to step in the right direction, you can argue why should the ROC take the first step, well if they truely see us (the tc)as there other half then they should welcome us back and forget about turkey, once we have established and matured and our trust for one another is 100% we can march turkey off the island togethar.
