Ignore some of the negative comments above. These people cannot face the trauma of having their long-cherished and entrenched stereotypes challenged, so prefer to live in denial rather than get to know their own compatriots.

You are off early RichardB - chicken!

Yes, you may cross over in the Northern side of Cyprus islandman. There are many cross over points, just remember your passport.

Bubbles ,
you are wrong RichardB , has been in Northern Cyprus also his wife Elena as well .We had a Efes Pilsen beer together. we are going to meet at summer again .

Bubbles, try Efes "light" - low alchohol and low calorie !!! (not as tasty as Keo though) I am not going to be around much, as my daughter, son-in-law and + lovely boys are here for 10 days!!!! They arrived at 6.15 am and were in the (riverside village) pool by 7am!!!

I hate to prompt you here ( but I will anyway ) but you have quite a few Turkish Cypriots living in the ROC just as there are Greek Cypriots living in the North ~ I will admit though that the Greek Cypriots living in the North don't enjoy the same freedom and rights as the Turkish Cypriots do in the South.

Cheers Tess, will try that one when we come over in the summer (still not decided where or when!) Will swop you an Efes for a Keo - deal?

Enjoy your time with the family :)

Bill ... just where precisely do I mention Turkish Cypriots? ...or have you defaulted to viewing them as one and the same with Turks

And you can bloody well say that again; that any (few) GCs holding their ground in the north do not enjoy the same freedom and rights as the lucky lucky lucky TCs ....
