Christofias Vs Papadopulos.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Get Real! » Sun May 25, 2008 1:32 pm

The irresponsible mention of “equal partners”; a loose expression lacking any interpretation whatsoever and mentioned just once among many pages of detail in the London/Zurich agreements, is testimony of the corrupt and diabolical scheming forced upon ex-president Makarios in the creation of the RoC.

The notion that a mere 18% minority, predominantly comprised of Turkish Nationalists, could have “equal” political strength is an intentional violation of Democracy and the Human Rights of the Greek Cypriot people.

That's why Greek Nationalists like you, Piratis and Kifeas is not at the negotiation table and Christofias is, partner.

I'm not proud of this fact, apparently up to 15-20 girls under 15 have abortions every year in the TRNC. WTF?

X vs Tpap is not just the only "boxing match" the same thing has started to go on in the North with "Talat-Denktas" . Denktas is accusing Talat of being naive into thinking that the general GC stance has changed one bit. On the other hand UBP ( National Unity Party ) is having a hard time internally in the near future either Eroglu will take charge or a new party with Eroglu supporters will break away.

Denktash will win. All he has to do is sit on his opponents and I bet he can sit on all 3 at the same time!

Unitedwestand has hit the nail on the head. I too believe that Christofias has decided he has had enough from the rejectionists and he will now go full steam for solution. He certainly knows what he is doing. He observed from close quarters the damage Papadopoulos did to Cyprus over the last 5 years and has taken the bull by the horns. His answer to Papadopoulos on the "partner state" shows a determined man who will not give up half way.

UBP LEADER SAYS SOLUTION CAN ONLY BE POSSIBLE BETWEEN TWO SOVEREIGN STATES

İs it last chance of the Talat and Chrisofias ?

The leader of the main opposition National Unity Party Tahsin Ertugruloglu has said that the a solution to the Cyprus Problem can only be found on the basis of the political equality of two sovereign states.

Evaluating the latest developments on the Cyprus Problem, the leader of the main opposition party said that the Turkish Cypriot Side was experiencing weaknesses in the process tried to be launched with the Greek Cypriot Side.

He said that it will not be possible for the Turkish Cypriot Side to achieve any political gains at the negotiating table if this continues.

Pointing out that acting on the basis of personal interest and unproductive contests will harm national interests, the UBP leader said that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus belonged to everyone and that the Turkish Cypriot State to be formed should not be approved.

Referring to Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer’s statements on ‘the political equality of two founding states’ during his evaluation of Friday’s meeting between the two leaders, Ertugruloglu said that a political settlement on the island could only reached between two politically equal and sovereign states.

The UBP leader also reminded that the principle of political equality was engraved in the founding treaty of the 1960 Cyprus Republic.

As two-thirds of the population in the south voted against Papdopoulos, the views of people like Piratis and Kifeas are obviously in the minority.

So when will they and their ilk have a coup to bring Papa Dop back?
