Beware of Beauty Line

Postby alex669 » Sun May 25, 2008 9:50 am

Recently my wife bought the regular bunch of cosmetics in Beauty Line branch in Debenhams, Limassol. I was just wondering to check the manufacturing date which wasn't easy because each brand uses it's own code. Finally I found the following site http://datecalculator.googlepages.com/englishhomepage which has almost all well-known brands. I was really surprised that cosmetics was either close to it's expiration or even behind it. For example Christian Dior lipstick boucht in May 2008 was manufactured even in November 2006 having the expiration date of 18 months!

So someone buys the outdated crap on garage sales and sells it here.

Expired cosmetics can damage your skin, really I saw such effects. And also it's dangerous for your health.

Yeah, well, apparently they're not very keen on following the expiration dates in this part of the world so it's wise to check the date on each and every product you buy.
Went shopping last weekend (being used to the fact that I DON'T have to look at the best before dates) and results are as follows:
* canned soup - 2 months behind today
* milk - one day forward
* cheese - one day behind

nuff said ;)

I always check expiration dates on everything I buy, regardless of whether it's food or not.
