Christofias gave in!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

That's an interesting theory! I wonder which mastermind has been training you at wiping your dirty hands clean from all responsibility...

The same person that taught you to turn a blind eye when the same was imposed on TCs in 1963 and our rights were taken away.

ABANDONED ?? !!!

VP - You've just offended 10,000s of Cypriots, of both communities, from all parts of the world. Please have the good sense to remove this word from your post above.

Nothing was stolen it was abandoned which is a totally a different thing we did the same in south. The usage was automatic as people without homes will settle in what they can find you cannot honestly expect anyone to leave empty houses standing around and force them to build new homes this is not logical or practical and does not happen anywhere in the world.

The selling on of land or property only really took off after the referendum when is was realized that property resolution will be along the lines of precedents around the world eg Poland where the current occupant will pay the difference on property surrendered against property utilized. The previous occupant will get financial compensation or offered any alternative available land or surrenderd land. Dont forget that the majority of land used by the TCs has something offset against it in the south.

Unfortunately I don't think we are going to agree on this one. In my (perhaps simplistic) view, people running away in fear of their lives does not constitute 'abandonment'. As for 'automatic settlement' then I would suggest that perhaps if those 'settlers' had not been shipped over from Turkey in an attempt to deliberately alter the island's demographics then they wouldn't need to have taken over those properties. they could have stayed at home.

I don't dispute that there are Turkish Cypriots with land in the RoC, but the proportions are simply not on the same level so it's not a fair offset.

It doesn't matter if we don't agree, we're not the ones making the big decisions and at least our debate hasn't degenerated into some sort of slanging match.

They were abandoned, if the GCs would have stayed in their hımes and not fought back, do you think the TA would have killed them all? do you think the UN you trust so much would have aloud this? This is in your imagination, the TA would have restored order and left but the aggression it was met with meant they had to fight back with even more power to bring an end to TC suffering and threat.

I hardly think it was "imposed" on you. You could've REJECTED Turkey's treasonous suggestions to abandon the constitution and withdraw into enclaves but your TC leaders were looking for “heroic” adventure and look at you now…

Was this while our homes were being burned down or while our young men were going missing and buried alive by you.

What a load of bollocks VP. The experiences of my friends and relatives ( and hundreds of others ) in the enclaved villages of the Karpas in 75 and 76, after two years of hardship, torture (and worse) at the hands of the Turkish Army and its Piss Operation tells me and the rest of the world that you are either totally ignorant of these matters and the methods of the TA or you are talking shite.
