How can you accuse someone of stealing your house and than in the same breath say its all hypothetical. Its bloody real that you have lost a war, your property, its bloody real there is division. Nothing hypothetical as far as I'm concerned.

Do you even know what the word hypothetical mean?

Yes. The question is, is do you? Your answer of you lost the war and nothing hypothetical as far as your concerned is a hypothetical response to an unfouded truth.
If no one else in the real world recognizes that response,(because there was no war with Turkey firstoff) then you have to prove otherwise. Blocking out a deal doesn't excuse you to say, "nothing hypothetical as far as your concerned"
Thats a fascist statement my friend.

War is violent armed combat between differing peoples (religion, political ideals, or territorial needs or demands, and race).

If my memory serves me correctly it was only a couple of weeks ago that you all, especially GR were boasting in the number of Turkish troops you managed to kill and number of planes you managed to bring down during the intervention.

You even boasted that if it was to happen today you would inflict much more damage on the Turkish armed forces. I think it was a war back in 74. Let me just ask my Grandad,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,yep, he thinks it was a war too.

We are not unreasonable people. Our very basic human rights would be good start. Those rights that you the GCs block at every opportunity. No need to list them, you know better than I do what they are.

Lets define human rights??? LOL

Who is keeping who from their human rights here? Turkey and Turkish Cypriots are stopping other Cypriots from living in their own homes, the use of religious buildings etc in the occupied part of Cyprus. What are YOU complaining about? No direct trade with the outside world?? You can do that - just not within the framework of an illegal de facto state. Taking part in international sports? You can do that just not within the framework of an illegal de facto state.

I wouldnt call ethnically cleansing part of a land, taking peoples homes and setting up your own state on that land - a 'human right'...even if Turkish Cypriot propaganda in the UK says different - would you?

Even if the land is splt like it is today and the north enters the EU, it does not stop Greek Cypriots buying up land in the north. I do not see how the EU law of free settlement for its citizens not take a precedent in Cyprus. Also, once the north comes into the EU, Cyprus will have every right to stop Turkish settlers from Turkey buying properties in Cyprus too. The only thing Turkish Cypriots might have to look forward too is a 'Turkish Constituant State' - which in a few years will probably have a majority of Greek Cypriots living it lol.

The only snag is that if the Turkish Cypriot Constituent State has a 50% say in all policies then there may be elements in that state who are happy to have Turkish settlers (or whoever else) buying property and so will oppose any attempt to stop those people from buying land.

It might also be the case that the decision won't be made by the centralised government, but rather the local authority in the Turkish Constituent State who again might not oppose the purchase of property by non-Cypriot

You tell me, who would have more of a demand for buying property in the north? The Greek Cypriots or people from Turkey? I dont think most people from Turkey really care too much about Cyprus a part from the fact that its an issue which would dent their fascist pride. Besides, would the 'Turkish Constituent State' have a say on the islands immigration policies? I think that has to and will be decided by the centralised government. The only reason the occupied part of Cyprus has a lot of settlers is because its a colony of Turkey. Once Turkey loses its colony (Turkish CYPRIOT state my arse), can you see as many settlers from Turkey continue moving there? If so many Turkish businesses and citizens wanted to buy property there - why isnt it more done up that it is now? OK - you have lots of cheap housing complexes built - but arent most of them 'owned' (tresspassing on Cypriot land to be precise) by British businesses??

I guess since you Grandad said is was a war, it couldn't of been an invasion codenamed "landgrab".
GR has to be wrong for defending his nation from foreign invasion on his countrys soil and being expelled from his land. How dare he.
How dare people fight for whats just in their own country. How dare them get into the EU like this.
Whats this world coming to.

Agreed, but if the 'Turkish Constituent State has an equal say in the central government then they have a big say in all policies including immigration and property ownership. Even if the GC State can overcome this, what if the whole 'Constituent State' thing turns out to be a backdoor to recognition? A few months for the sake of appearances and then the same people who are in charge there now declare a legal 'TRNC' or join up with mother Turkey. Next thing you know it's 1974 v2.0 and it wont matter who owns the land.

I really hope Christofias knows what he's doing.

Of course TCs can exercise their EU citizenship rights through RoC. No problem. But contrary to what you say, TCs do not have to denounce anything in order to be able to exercise those rights. And since TCs have rights then, thankfully, they don't have to ask the likes of you to 'accommodate them'.

And no, you're wrong. Far from 'so far reject[ing]' the RoC, many TCs have exercised their EU rights through the RoC and this is likely to set to continue. The result is that more TCs will have EU citizen rights, guaranteed through the RoC, but still the TRNC and RoC will sit politically side by side on a divided island.

CopperLine, you are very diluted my dear! You have no clue of what you are talking about! Let me ask you first, which rights do you beilive the TCs will begin exercising under the EU, if no solution is found? Just tell us a few?

Sorry for my intrusion, one that I can think of straight away, our human rights. Over to you Copperline.

Which human rights, and who is violating them?

Why no need to list them! Is it because you do not know them, or is it because you know before hand that the one violating them is not the RoC or the GCs, but in fact Turkey that occupies the north illegally! Just tell us only a couple of them!

Come on Kifeas, whats the point of going round in circles. When did you last see a TC participate at any level on the International arena? We couldn't even organise a game of football without you blocking it. I cant even get a direct flight home. The list is endless but done ask me to get dragged into your silly game.

Can CopperLine lower himself to answer me this, whilst contemplating Kifeas:

If the TCs have already been exercising EU rights under the RoC .... what of the (now majority) "Settlers" of the "trnc"?

Is there a two-tier system in force?

You can get a direct flight home, by landing in Larnaka airport! Isn't his a Cypriot airport, only 30 minutes from Nicosia and 45 minutes from Kyrenia? From Pafos it takes me 1 1/2 hours to get to Larnaka and pick up a flight! If the Turkish occupation army did not prohibit the RoC from operating the Tymbou airport int he north, you could have gotten a direct flight home via this airport as well! Turkey violates your rights in this case, for occupying the north illegally and doesn't allow the RoC to operate this airport! What else? You can participate in the EU parliament elections and become elected as and EU MP from the RoC, but you have to cross south because Turkey prohibits the RoC from running ballots in the occupied area! Turkey violates your rights again, for not allowing the RoC to run ballots in the occupied north! Your sports team may join the RoC sports federation, and in this way you may legally participate in any international sports events, including playing any international game with a foreign team! Your sports club only has to be registered itself to the RoC sports federation. Tell me some more of your human rights which feel they are violated!

ITs true - please list a 'basic human right' that is being infringed by the RoC??

...i'll tell you what, i'll match it with a basic human right that is being infringed by Turkey and we'll compare notes. Because playing football is such a basic human right but living in your own home isnt.

Besides, the whole Cetinkaya vs Luton Town affair was a Turkish political stunt. All Cetinkaya had to do was go through the Cypriot FA as it represents the whole of the island and they could have had the match. When Cetinkaya was asked why they did not do this, they said they couldnt because it was against their will to recognise the Cypriot FA. Seems to me like a political stunt dont you agree??

Hey Unitedwestand, why doesnt Turkey allow Nea Salamina and Anorthosis play in their home stadium??

Back to the 'basic human rights' issue - can you please list some??
