No I wouldn’t if Cyprus was in the EU.I would even look for ways to protect my rights as a minority better than any other minority in the world -EU is very sensitive on this issue you know.... Furthermore I would not hesitate a minute exchanging my current miserable economic condition with that.

Metecyp wrote: Here's what I think. The safeguards provided to TCs in 1960 agreements proved to be insufficient to ensure that TCs are guaranteed to participate in the decision-making. I hope this is obvious after 40 years of exclusion of TCs from the decision-making. Furthermore, 1960 agreements provided no security for TCs between 1963-1974. So why would a TC believe that anything less than 1960 agreements, like a minority status, will provide the extra assurance and security needed??

Because the extra and the absolute assurance is the EU. Is it so difficult for you to understand that today is not the 60s that even if you return to the 1960 constitution whatever happened in the past is absolutely impossible to be repeated today?

Bosnia and Kossovo are not in the EU, when the EU values are at stake the EU has no option than to stick to them, or else that would mean its death!

Metecyp wrote: We have to learn how to live side-by-side in a bizonal bicommunal federation and gain some trust before jumping into a unitary state. This is the only logical forward way.

The BBF is not a feasible thing. It violates human rights.Furthermore don't be sure any solution can evolve from BBF to anything else.Political situations tend to create interests that keep the status for ever...

Will you ever stop asking questions pretending that you do not understand? Do you at least understand what impact those things they tell you, will have on the GC refugees? If yes then where is your response?

How about this poem

We (GC) will legitimise what we stole from TC in 63 by illegal means and the use of violence and murder. All of Cypus is Greek. TC have no more rights in their our homeland than a minority even though we agreed they were more than this as a means to steal it back from them later. We (GC) will legitimise what we stole from TC in 63 by illegal means and the use of violence and murder. If we fail at that we seek to legitimise it by using the EU to do our dirty work for us.

You would have no problem with being a political minority under effective control of TC but refuse to accept political equality ???? So lets make a solution that gives effective political control to TC in Cyprus and the problem is solved!

They would never understand erol, don't waste your time with these people. They think they can get everything, but they are forgetting that a plan that will unify Cyprus will be voted by G.Cs and T.Cs. and T.Cs will never accept a plan that MicAtCyp has written in his mind. We are not idiots, we are not simple minded. We are as clever as they are. If they think we will accept anything lower than BBF, then I am sorry, but they will not even see their homes back even in their dreams. I do not know from where people like Mic and Main Source had found such courage to decide what to give to T.Cs and what not, but these people have hatred all over their veins. It's just pitty, but it is the case EVEN IF THEY WILL DENY IT!

Whoa!

1. Here's a hint: I am here to learn. See, I acknowledge that I don't know everything there is to know about TCs and their point of view. Ergo, I can't make safe judgments as to the validity of their claims.
You, on the other hand, seem to be skipping the first part (about 'knowing everything there is to know') and moving right along to the second part (about 'making safe judgments as to the validity of the TCs' claims').
Not cool.

2. As for the refugees you mentioned, maybe their anger and frustration should be directed at those who brought this mess about, instead of those who simply acknowledge that some people did, in fact, fuck up at some point in time. What happened, or is going to happen, to the refugees, is not my fault. Before you come to any conclusions again, my own father is a refugee.

3. Finally, you must have noticed that I very rarely respond to your posts or share my views with you.
Please, for as long as you don't feel any need to respect anyone and refrain from using inflammatory language and derogatory comments, do the same.

I know, I know, don't bother: my feelings can go to hell, too. So let's just keep it at that.

Metecyp,

you are the one who is wasting my time, by just picking my reply and not bothering to read to what it refers. The feelings to which I refer are the feelings of the Governor or the Ruler, which Insan in his usual dizziness invented recently, and to which presumably we the GCs have to respect...LOL!!!!
Well you may be excused because I know how sloppy you are in your reading, but how about you seconding up by "Partition-aki mou"?

Jimmy I am very disapointed of you.
You represent the generation who used to have everything ready in the plate. Its your future son, and I really feel sorry for you. When it comes to see it and live it you may repeat your "the hell why not" slogan a million times, until you understand why the hell it should be NOT. Because it is YOU who are going to be really screwd in the end.
My generation for your information was the one who did nothing and suffered everything, for your generation to have everything ready in the plate. You know what? I think your generation is the one that will lose what is left.

Erm... you kind of lost me, there.
First: I don't deny belonging to that generation. You are right. Our parents have worked their asses off and we've had it all easy. Agreed.

Second: I also don't deny that I am in favour of sharing what we do have (even the stuff we have more of, like international recognition and our beloved money) to get to peace and friendship. You are probably right in assuming that the reason I am so easily in favour of such sharing is that I never had to work my hands to the bone to get what I have, but then again, what can I do about that? I guess I'll have to work harder when I have less... So what you call 'screwing' I call 'sharing'. I'm not sure how we can bridge this disagreement. Maybe we should keep it and move on.

Third: lose what, man? Our 'Hellenicity'? Maybe it will lose hellenicity and gain cypriotism. But I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 'losing everything'. Maybe you could explain it further.

Oh, and thanks for changing your tone, at least for this post. Much appreciated!

MicAtCyp,

This is what you wrote...
MicAtCyp wrote:
because just a 100 years ago TCs were the governors of Cyprus and they governed Cyprus for 400 years. Now you guess how would TC community feel itself as a minority in a GC state.

YOUR FEELINGS CAN GO TO HELL...

Now, I believe the owner of the quote is insan and he was referring to TCs in his posts and how they might feel in a minority status (rightly or wrongly). Now, when you say "Your feelings can go to hell", you can refer to 2 things: insan or TCs. Either way, you're not trying to communicate but rather yell and scream and waste everyone's time.
MicAtCyp wrote:The feelings to which I refer are the feelings of the Governor or the Ruler, which Insan in his usual dizziness invented recently, and to which presumably we the GCs have to respect...LOL!!!!

So how are we supposed to realize that you're refering to the feelings of a certain thing like a Governor and not insan or TCs in general? This is not the first time you're posting in this manner, saying something utterly nonsense and then claiming that you meant something else that only existed in your mind.

Yes I might be sloopy reading sometimes and I have no problem admitting that. I'm not one of those always-right, too proud to admit they're wrong, types.

Maybe you can do the same and instead of blaming me for being sloppy in reading, you can try to learn how to express yourself properly so everyone can understand. And don't forget to remind yourself what the purpose of this forum is and why people take time to log on and read posts...
