The Turkish Cypriot failure at Buergenstock.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The great Mahatma Gandhi fought the mighty British Empire with non-violent resistance so what’s stopping the Turkish Cypriots from doing the same to Turkey? Maybe they’re just too busy selling Christian artifacts and prostituting GC properties…

Your firm belief can only be stemming from wishful thinking because so far violence has decided pretty much everything in the history of mankind. Even your very own community the Turkish Cypriots, are the product of a violence that began in 1570 against Cyprus.

You are right,GR...Violence has decided everything so far....But look where it got us???? Where it got the whole humanity....If you don't stop going back in history,I might have to remind you of your own chequered background...Alexander the Great was not exactly a peace emissary from Heaven...

Or maybe they are waiting for some unmistakable sign that their compatriots do not still want to turn Cyprus into a Greek Island!!!!

Get rid of the Greek flags, the Greek national anthem, and curb the political influence of the Greek Orthodox Church, and they might just oblige you GR... :) :)

Bir I agree with you when you say :

"This circle must be broken in Cyprus...Too many generations have been going through all sorts of pain and suffering already..We must never even THINK about a war any more...It would be sheer lunacy... "

But also I suspect that it might be brought to us, regardless of our plans or wishes.

I have a deep dislike for the military way of thinking in general. But one thing the strategists say is true, the moment an army moves to fight it creates a long logistics tail. You cut off that tail you disable the army. No ships and planes to bring over hardware and supplies and what you have is 40 000 tourists with rifles. The Turkish general staff know this and that is precisely they have such a maniacal determination to prevent Greek reinforcement of Cyprus. Hence the silly exercises in the south of Crete. They fear having their exposed tail cut off.

You cannot load a rifle with heroism, you need bullets.[/qu

A short tail is far superior to a long one , a fact that the planes from Greece discovered in 1974.

On the subject of tails...have you lost yours yet?

I do not have a kangaroo tail :D

The more of us speak up against war,or even thinking about it,the more likely we will avoid it,Nikitas...But I agree with you,it is a loosing battle,so to speak... :)

You are indeed a master at finding excuses to rid the TC community of any responsibilities and tie their every shortcoming with a corresponding GC shortcoming. You’re doing a great job at preserving the status quo in your own “innocent” little way all wrapped up in a Mahatma Ghandi packaging…

You do not fool unkie GR and never have.

Get off your high horse,GR,and see the realities of our little problem...
The TCs are the greatest victims in all this...I am talking about the average TC....not Denktash and his cronies...They have nowhere to go...
They are stuck between the ROC and Turkey...If you want them to turn towards you,do something to encourage them...Showing them the stick and threatening them with annihilation will not do it...You have no moral right to demand passive resistance from the TCs until you start your own passive resistance in the South...Try forming a lobby group to demand that all symbols of Hellenism are dismantled in the RoC...Then you can demand your much weaker compatriots to do the same in the North...Not before...

Only the truly uneducated (or Turkish propagandists) would foolishly compare the destruction caused by the Ottoman Empire to that of Alexander the Great's Empire!

Carry on Bir ... bit by bit you are exposing yourself as the greatest tool the Turks have constructed to date ...

Keep trying to shame us into forsaking our Hellenic past leaving only Turkish replacements ....

Like GR! ... I too am not fooled by your displays. (But I think you knew that  )
