You have no chance old son. Unless you have serving relatives serving there. The base is strictly out of bounds, saying that if you are Ex service, try the Sergeants Mess.

If it's for a specific reason you may have to contact RAF PMS Innsworth in Gloucester. Or if it's for a "look around", as purdey says this is highly unlikely, but would only be allowed with the express written permission of the Station Commander. Even if you are ex-RAF you would still need your reserve 1250 to get on there.

I entered RAF Akrotiri airfield for an open day in 1998 :) There was an air show etc... it was really good.

8) RAF Akrotiri is a British base on foreign soil. and in these dangerous times we live in needs to keep a high state of alertness.
Last week attracted by practising of the Red Arrows i went to Akrotiri to take some pictures of them. while myself and my wife were outside the main entance with cameras we were challenged and asked what our purpose taking pictures was.
The Arrows have gone now so i would suggest that going there now would not be a good idea.
I would suggest you go to Anglesey and nip round to the far end of RAF Valley, in the summer theres a small mobile cafe there...sit down have a cuppa and there you will get hawk trainers buzzing over you all day...

8) Its a nice park of the country- sitting there watching the planes or wandering around newborough warren..could sit on Angelsey in sunshine while just across the water it would be pouring down around snowdon :)
I never held the brecon beacons training area in such high regard! :x

Anglesey is nice, but dreary in the wet seasons. There are a lot of nice bays, some that are very secluded, ideal if on a date

I used to go to Treaddur Bay snorkelling and jet-skiing a lot. In fact would have fitted some of that in last week if it was a bit nicer. Only hit 16 degrees the day I went.
