Fattest nation in Europe

Postby AQ » Sun May 18, 2008 9:05 pm

A new survey in the Times this week has shown that the Brits are the fattest nation in Europe.

Cyprus is second!

At least we are best at something.

Come on Cyprus. Get eating1

If the Turks get into the EU, THAT statistic will be straight out of the window, perhaps they should be allowed in as a face saver.

I find this very difficult to believe. For one thing I read the Times and don't recall any such article recently, secondly I find it very difficult to believe that Cyprus is ahead of the likes of Spain and Germany. This is a subject I know a lot about but have not heard of this survey.

When was it in The Times?

59,997! and dropping. Re your first post I know where you are coming from. I am not English but live in England and have an apartment in Cyprus. However, I must be a racist as it makes my blood boil that this government (UK) allows the 'illegals' and asylum seekers in at the taxpayers expense. At least the majority of English people in Cyprus are contributing to the economy rather than draining it. From my observations the English are not favoured by the Cyps - but for me it's the country I love and am prepared to be disliked.

I should add that I have met some lovely Cypriot people and some bloody awful ones. Same scenario in all countries.

Just enjoy yourselves - I will give you a bit of my 'thick skin'!

I don't understand this statement, because in 20 years I have only found the total opposite to be true.

Maybe I'm going to the right areas :?

Why are you comparing the "illegals" and asylum seekers who may well be draining the UK taxpayers' resources .... with the "contributing" English people in Cyprus?

Veiled distortions of reality ...

Surely you should be comparing the wealthy Arabs, hardworking Poles etc who are most definitely contributing to the UK economy ... and certainly more substantially than the majority of "English" people do in Cyprus ...

To boot, Cyprus has its fair share of "illegals" and asylum seekers too ...
