Who is a Cypriot?

Postby xxNilxx » Sun May 18, 2008 7:43 pm

Greeks were not the first settlers in Cyprus. However they did come to Cyprus before Turks and Armenians.

Most Armenian Cypriots came in 1920s to Cyprus... And yet Greeks have the nerve to call them a ''Cypriot'' and deny Turkish Cypriots of being Cypriots when we've been here far longer and for hundreds of years.

Greek Cypriots aren't the founders of this island. They weren't the first ones here. So surely they can't be Cypriot either?

Basically there is no such thing as a ''Cypriot'' ... we are just Maronites, Armenians, Greeks or Turks..... Agree?

Because if there is such thing as a Cypriot , you have no right to deny Turkish Cypriots of being a CYPRIOT.

National identity is a state of mind. If people perceive of themselves first and foremost as being Cypriot, then that is what they are.

Some Armenians came as early as the 7th Century. Since Cyprus is are motherland we are Cypriots. You have nerve to state that we are not Cypriots, or just a facist piglet.

I dont think that was being said. What was said is that us TCs are as Cypriot as are Armenians , Maronites and Greeks. We all should have an equal say in Cyprus.
