When other forms of transport were not available (and when a more leisurely trip was called for) I have made several trips on both Salamis 'Glory' and 'Star' to both Israel and Egypt.
In those days, (about seven years ago) the trips were very frequent, I do believe that there are now some restrictions since I invariably am air-lifted to both destinations these days.
What I would say (reference to the seaborne trips) is that I thought the they were excellent value for any holidymakers that wished to venture there.
One word of caution though, the security on entering Israel may be a little daunting nowadays, certainly the act of disembarking (worse on embarking) at 'Port Said' (Egypt trip) is an experience not to be missed, if one arrives back on board without making a purchase from the eager pontoon traders, one has performed a feat.
All in all, the trips are well worth the effort, (if they are still available) and good value for money I would imagine.
As a footnote:- If the intention of the traveller is to visit Cairo, the coach trip is long and arduous, I have had to make it twice, never again.
