Curiously, the following suggests that these companies are still publicly traded:

I have tried to rack my brains about the history of my rather convoluted relationship with Avacom, and, although things have become confused in my mind, I think it goes like this:
My relationship with Avacom began when I applied to an advertising agency in Limassol which advertised web hosting services. I was looking for somebody to host my web site and signed up with them in 2004. At the time I was unaware that they just acted as agents for Avacom.
Things went fine for some time, then around Easter 2006 my site was down for about a week. Apparently, the whole thing crashed and all the sites hosted by Avacom were down. About the same time there was another problem because my domain name expired and nobody had renewed it and I had to make an emergency payment to avoid losing it. After this, the advertising agency in Limassol told me that I should deal directly with Avacom in the future becuase they were moving out of web hosting. I remember trying to contact Avacom using the phone number shown on their web site, but I got no answer. Finally, I went to their physical address in Engomi shown on the web site. The sign plates for Avacom were still in place in the office block in which Avacom used to occupy two floors, but when you went up, the offices were closed. This seemed strange because my web site was actually up and running at this time. For some time, I recall, my site continued to be up even though my payment had expired. I think finally I was contacted by somebody from Avacom about payment for web hosting, and this is when I was able to ascertain their new address in Strovolos. I then visited their premises. If I remember correctly, they are operating from the basement of a furniture shop, which seems to belong to the same family, and there is one technical person in a room full of computers, and a sales person in an office. I negotiated a new deal for my hosting services there. I mentioned my visit to Engomi, and this is when they explained to me that they had taken over the failed company and had moved to smaller premises. However dodgy this may sound, my site has been up 100% apart from one instance when it was the object of a malicious attack, which they took care of promptly. Any technical problems and queries I have had have also been dealt with professionally.
This is about as well as I can peice it together off the cuff.
