But if only it was that Easy - King Hussein of Jordan managed to walk the tightrope of diplomacy, while Anwar Sadat paid with his life.
No one wants to deal with terrorists but yesterdays freedom fighters would be todays terrorists.
There are jewish settlers in villages built in Palestine but but how we condemn turkish settlers in Northern Cyprus.

I think you'll find that is not the way it works.........

So does this mean Eliko that the terrorists who crushed the planes killing thousands of innocent people o 9/11 could one day be seen by the CIVILIZED world as freedom fighters ??
ps: Can I ask you Eliko for a special favour , please get rid of that monstrosity you use as an avatar , its nauseatingly annoying !!

miltiades, I am going to take your advice and change my avatar, I did not realize (when I adopted it from another member 'Stout') that there was yet another member with the same one.

Your reasonable request will be dealt with immediately and I apologize to BOF for having inadvertantly exposed him to an unjustified reproach.

You see, miltiades, a little flexibility and understanding can produce such feelings of camaraderie, even among the more vociferous of us.

miltiades, witness now the folly of lurking in the shadows ready to spring out upon your helpless victim.

By assuming (incorrectly) that it was 'I' (your favourite target of rebuff and rebuttal) that penned the words you objected to and committed the cardinal sin of making a statement which was at odds to your own, you have inconvenienced TWO of your fellow members and shocked  many more I'm sure.

However, having borne the whip of your verbal assaults so many times in the past AND, out of deference to the fact that you have objected to my avatar before AND, having regard for the fact that your age commands respect, I have dispensed with it.

I have now shunted it into the goods-yard of my memory, awaiting collection by some other unsuspecting member who may fancy adopting the animal, Goodbye Moses, Goodbye Snowflake.

Best wishes to you and your family. Eliko.

No, Begin was a terrorist, who most Israelis now consider a freedom fighter.

There is a very clear and precise distinction as to what constitutes a terrorist and what makes a hero !!!

A hero puts his life on the line in order to defend his country against aggression and enslavement , a terrorist blows himself up in a public place full of innocent men women and children , or crushes a plane or two loaded with innocent people on buildings killing thousands of innocent men women and children. He also places cars laden with bombs outside indiscriminately selected entertainment places in order to kill as many as possible innocent revelers. There is a very clear distinction only a fool can not see it . Will the first fool post the first " stone " !!!

Thank you Eliko , your gesture is indeed genuine and I appreciate it. You may have noticed however the purpose behind my deliberate confusion of identity ..
Thanks for your wishes , the same for me.
Now that I know your father was from Rizokarpaso may I ask if he knew the G/C teacher who remained behind in order to keep the G/C school operational ? Yiannoula her name I believe .

miltiades, such an interesting play on words BUT, let me put a case to YOU.

If a man with skin as black as coal, suddenly appeared at the end of your garden and built himself a shed.

If that man then pointed to your two rich neighbours and informed you that THEY had sanctioned his act and would not tolerate any objections from YOU.

If that man then began to develop your garden and gradually encroach upon your property, then employed the assistance of his friends to vanquish your objections and take possession of MORE of your land.

If that man finally drove you from your home and your land with the excuse that his ancestors were there more than five thousand years ago.

I doubt if YOU would be very happy.

Furthermore, surely you would wonder how a man with skin as black as coal, could lay claim to the fact that he belonged in the region where stood your home.

Surely people such as he should be in the regions of Africa.

Similarly, the greatest weakness in the argument the Jew proffers is that they seemingly have a skin colour more commonly found in the remote regions of Russia, perhaps Israel should be founded there, what do YOU think.
