I’ve been talking Russian all evening – I’ll take poor French and Greek over that anytime!

I'll take €2 as it is late...

I've been thinking about learning a little Russian! They seem to be taking over here so might be a good idea!

1 rouble?

'tis hard work... :x

€0.50 my last offer... :(

OK it's a deal! 50 cents for everything sounds pretty good to me. I could do with a good wedding speech funnily enough! 8)

As an EU citizen, you are entitled to work for anybody who wishes to employ you, become self employed or start your own business in Cyprus.

I am afraid that if you chose to work for somebody else, the wages are low and the cost of living is not much lower than in the UK. There are one or two niche areas in which English speakers with specialist skills can earn a good salary - these appear to be accounting, computing and shipping. Otherwise you are restricted to summer jobs in tourism, where you you will be competing for jobs with low-paid workers from places like Russia or Sri Lanka, or to call centres. Of course, if you can learn Greek then other opportunities will become available, but you can hardly expect to do this overnight.

It might be a good idea to get the Cyprus Mail (daily) or the Cyprus Weekly and look at the situations vacant columns there. This will give you an idea of the kinds of jobs that are available here.
