Wow, interesting, I'd always assumed Japan wouldn't touch nuclear. Another myth (in my mind at least) busted........... :D

Notice that the West refers to them as... “Illegal Exports” …because they are headed for “undesirables” like Libya, Iran and North Korea, but if the materials were to head for the US, UK, or Australia then it would be an “anti-terrorist” transaction!

To say that this world disgusts me is an understatement… :?

Now C'mon GR. Tell me the truth. Who would you prefer to have this type of technology? Iran or Australia?

I could tell you for a fact that Australia will never use this technology to anihilate another country. Now consider a world where Iran suddenly has nuclear weapons. If this eventuates, you should consider moving your family from Cyprus as you guys will not be immune to the nuclear fallout of Isreal's and Iran's anihilation!

Preferably none, but given that the US is the ONLY country in the history of mankind to have used WMDs on another country, and on TWO separate occasions I might add, then my logic concludes that the US should NEVER EVER have them! This much I can easily conclude.

On the other hand, Iran has been a peaceful country throughout its history with the only conflict tarnishing its all-white record being against the border disputes Vs Iraq.

Given all the evidence, my logic MUST conclude that Iran is a peaceful country unlike the US, UK, or Israel.

If history and logic is anything to go by then the evidence is stacked up AGAINST the West I'm afraid.

GR, Iran is advocating the anihilation of Isreal. Heaven forbid it acquiring nuclear capabilities.

And the Iran-Iraq war was one of the most brutal in human history.

Do you not agree that Iran having this capability is very scary?

Paphitis, I just searched a simple “Israel threatens Iran” and this is the result…

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Israel ... s&ei=UTF-8

…hundreds of hits unfortunately.

THAT IS SCARY!

...because if Israel ever follows up on its foolish threats I know for a fact that Iran CAN and very likely WILL annihilate Israel with one or two missiles and what follows thereafter is obvious.

To answer your question, the fact that a country as irresponsible as Israel has been given and allowed to have nuclear technology is THE SCARIEST thing for me on this planet and not Iran.

Yes I agree with you in the sence that Isreal has a nuclear capability and that she is not afraid to use it either. I find it even more scary should Iran obtain the capability as I firmly believe that they would be very tempted to push that button against Isreal. What will follow is a nuclear holocaust that will kill millions and be the destruction of Isreal, Iran and quite possibly the whole world.

The key here is to prevent Iran from obtaining this capability, otherwise we risk WWIII.

Iran had the ability to annihilate Israel from a decade ago with her long range ballistic missiles which are just as deadly as nuclear, yet did not. Here’s a list of Iran's inventory…

http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world ... issile.htm

This article, although out of date gives you a good idea of what must be happening in the nuclear department…

http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/iran/nuke.htm

They would cause a lot of damage, but those rockets would not anihilate Isreal. As you can also understand, Air Defense will also knock out a proportion of them.

They are big rockets with big range. But what guidance system are they using? I remember one time when Iraq launched a Scud against Isreal and it overflew and went into the ocean south of Cyprus.

How do you think these dirty missiles will fair against the Patriot? I am certain that Isreal would act should the threat be overbearing.

I also believe that Isreal will never allow Iran to obtain the nuclear capability.

Do not get me wrong, Iran certainly has the right to defend itself and to also develop sound capabilities, but a nuclear holocaust between Isreal and Iran is possible should Iran obtain nuclear capability, which I believe will never be allowed.

Also, their Jihadist mentality is very concerning as they believe in the divine eradication of Isreal. Isreal will not just sit on their hands. They will act and god help us all should the war be nuclear.

Coming back to the Israel - Iran situation before I interrupted you with the John Lennon/Yoko Ono dirge - what is the most likely future scenario?

1. Iran to surprise Israel by having a nuclear weapons capability earlier than expected and using it.

2. Israel to preempt the above by striking Iran first.

3. USA to preempt option 1 and assist Israel through striking Iran first.

4. The war of words to continue indefinitely with no action taken.

5. Something to 'happen' to the Iranian leadership, or for diplomacy or economic/political pressure to make Iran withdraw from the hostile proclamations issued recently?

Option 1 surely unthinkable, although US/UK/others intelligence on Iraq WMD clearly completely incorrect, so can't have confidence that we know the true situation in Iran.

Would options 2 and 3 be nuclear?

Option 4 can't go on for ever.

Option 5 surely the best?

You have a penchant for the word STUPID (oracle) Phoenix. Why when someone shows an allegiance other than to Cyprus do you have to critcise. Are we feeling insecure again, or just plain antagonistic ?

Point blank universal allegiance is stupid.

I support Cyprus on the things it has a right to, with justice and fairness.

I don't offer sweeping support without knowing what it is for. That's just dumb.

Whereas from what you have "patriotically" avowed, you would endorse Nuclear annihilation of Cyprus should Israel deem it appropriate!
