No VP! The new structure, if it will ever be founded, will only be based on the existing structure which is formed on the basis of the two communities, and not on any two states with separate ethnic ownership and identities! It will only be an evolution of the legal entity called the RoC! The two states will simply be administrative divisions with their own sub-governments, always under the roof of the RoC! Read the UN resolutions, to see where you are standing! The UN resolutions speak about the political equality of the two communities, and they are conducted by the leaders of the two communities of one single country, as such; and not by the leaders of any two separate states that belong to any two separate ethnic people! Learn your facts, and stop wasting yours and our time!

There is no GC hand that has the nerve to possibly sign the eradication of the Greek Cypriots' cultural heritage, existential rights and historical consciousness from any part of our 4,000 years old and long homeland, which is the whole of Cyprus! Stop asking for the illegitimate and the impossible! We have made our compromises to you already, and you know who they are! There is no chance we can go further than that, and all that is left is for your side to give up its irredentist illegitimate claims and those of Turkey, and do your own compromises, if you want to survive as a community on this planet! The alternative is for you to go down the drain of the Turkish neo-ottoman megalomaniac fantasies!

You are stuck in the rut of the"RoC" and have not taken into account the UN comprehensive solution called the AP which any future solution will contain elements of, so you are wasting not only our time but the time of the UN who are the only body who will work towards a solution. They have experience of GC intrangience from only a few years ago and will not fall into the same trap twice, they found themselves in when the GCs rejected the last attempt at resolvuing this long outstanding problem which you have now placed as a hot patato on the lap of the EU.

You still have not come to terms with the fact that there will be 2 states the north and south run by TCs in the north and GCs in the south, otherwise no deal. You yourself have put forward what the Federal structure will be when it comes to running the country at the federal level but at local level people will have to decide which administration they wish to reside under. I am well aware this makes you stick to your stomache but its something you have to come to terms with becuase just as you wish to impose your GC rule on TCs you will have to concede to accepting that TCs will also have the right to run their own part of the country.

UN resolutions can be superceded by new ones so putting forward outdated resolutions that have been ignored or have had or will not have any impact are of no use to anyone as no one has bothered to impose them.

VP, the “UN comprehensive solution called the Anan Plan,” was not a UN comprehensive solution proposal, but a Kofi Anan "solution" proposal instead, that is why it did not bear the name “UN plan,” but the “Anan plan” name instead! The Anan plan "solution" proposal, by the words of the plan's author, as they were stipulated in the very plan itself, "should it be rejected by any one of the two sides, becomes invalid and does not constitute a legal or political precedent!" Just go back to it and read it once more! Therefore, reference to the (whatever) provisions of this Anan "solution" proposal (A-plan,) are meaningless by default! On the other hand, the UN resolutions, which give a different perspective than that which was offered by Kofi Anan in its invalidated plan, do remain and do constitute legal and political precedents! Therefore, do get your facts straight on what stands and what counts, and what does not!

As for the intransigence you have talked about, the only one that has been experienced by the international community, and is been mentioned in the various ADOPTED UN reports as well, is only that of Mr. Denktash and the Turkish side! Such was the experienced intransigence from the above two, over the years, that the end result was for the EU accession to be offered to the RoC in the plate, just like a piece of cake is offered! When you choose to speak about intransigence, know in what waters you are trying to swim, for “in the hanged man’s home, it is not very polite to be making statements referring to a rope!”

You are wrong in saying that we did not come to terms with the idea that “there will be 2 states the north and south "run" by TCs in the north and GCs in the south!” We did come to terms with this already, with the only difference that it is you (your side) that cannot come to terms with the idea that these two states will be “run” by the two communities, respectively, only by virtue of majority population presence, and not by virtue ethnically owning them as two separate people owning two separate nation-states or regions! Nor that because you will be “running” one such state by virtue of majority population presence, it will mean that you should also have the right to “run” it in whichever you please or wish, in the expense of the political, cultural and human rights of the members of the other community! The inherent administrative power of each of the two states will not vested on the members of each of the two communities on an ethnic basis, but will instead derive from the (new) central federal RoC government’s constitutional power delegation towards the Cypriot people that will constituting the permanent residents of each state, irrespective of their ethnic origin! It will so happen that the majority of such Cypriot permanent resident people in each component state will be originating from a different community of the two! The political equality will be that of the two communities, and will be expressed in the federal (central) government of the (new) RoC, which will be the evolution and the continuator of the existing RoC, as it was founded in 1960! Whether you like it or not, there is no alternative way to re-unite the island, and insisting on anything else is tantamount to proposing that we should accept a disguised partition that we will simply brand as “reunification,” in other words a mission impossible since no GC hand will ever consider placing its signature on a paper that will vindicate and legitimize the illegal fait accomplices of the 1974 Turkish invasion and subsequent occupation!

Then you now must understand why there will never be a solution to the Cyprus problem as what you are saying is either its our way or the highway and then when we choose the highway you complain about us being intrangient.

Lets try and take your points one at a time,

The above comments are very comical when you consider that Annan was not working freelance he was SG of the UN for gods sake his team worked hard and long on finding a solution taking into account the realities on the ground and concerns fo both communities. The fact that the outcome was not what you demanded was why you rejected it, this does not mean that the UN who are again at the helm and not the EU will imo use the AP as a basis for any future plans to resolve our complicated and dated problems.

The joke is on you give enough rope to a GC and he will hang himself as you have seen from recent polls on this forum GCs still think they can whip Turkeys arse in a war and are determined to use this route to solve the Cyprus problem.

Denktash has been a convenient escape goat for GCs for years once he was pushed to one side the real intrangient side appeared, 5 years and counting.

Why are you against the TCs running the north and the GCs running the south? are your concerns related to TCs owning the north? or being allowed the opportunity to break away sometime in the future if things shoudl go wrong? We understand that the federal laws will be above those of the 2 states and the veto on predetermined sensative issues is a comforter but i am having problems understanding why you are so against the idea that TCs should always run the north and the GCs the south.

They would rather be isolated in the TRNC rhan mix with greeks in the South.

GCs have still not worked out that TCs will never live in a GC state run by GCs they would prefer 10 times a worse TRNC than move south, they can make as many excuses as they wish but the bottom line is TCs will not capitulate to GCs who want to reduce them to minority status in a GC state run by GCs like the "RoC".

Speak for the two of you VP , add Eric , Big Al and Pauul that makes 3 of you !! I was never good with maths and yet I'm a qualified accountant !!!

miltiades you are fighting a losing battle the GC war mongers have shown their fangs and real intentions, all we can do is defend ourselves like we did in 1974.

İhsanoglu noted that the OIC had closely followed the latest Greek Cypriot presidential election process in February. He also expressed hope that newly revived peace negotiations would achieve success by taking confidence building measures.

"As the OIC, we reject unjust embargoes," İhsanoglu was quoted as saying by the Anatolia news agency. "Punishment of a people in this way doesn't fit with any set of values," he said, while noting that the OIC is determined to continue with intensified efforts for easing the international isolation of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Marios Karoyan, president of the Greek Cyprus House of Representatives, criticized İhsanoglu over the weekend, suggesting that his recent activities concerning the Cyprus issue have been creating significant problems for the Greek Cypriot side.

The OIC secretary-general "has been exerting great efforts in support of the thesis of Turkey and the TRNC on the Cyprus issue," Karoyan said in an interview with the Athens news agency ahead of a visit to the Greek capital, Anatolia reported. "Strengthening relations with parliaments of Islamic countries and other countries in the upcoming period for gaining support for the Greek [Cypriot] side's thesis is among the goals of the Greek [Cypriot] parliament," Karoyan stated.

In June 2006, a resolution adopted at the end of the OIC foreign ministers meeting in the Azerbaijani capital of Baku expressed displeasure over Greek Cyprus unwillingness to resolve the decades-old Cyprus deadlock, urging the international community to convince Greek Cypriots to approach talks for a deal under the auspices of a UN-proposed reunification plan.

Back in April 2006, the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUOIC) approved a decision defining the TRNC, officially recognized only by Turkey, as the "Turkish Cypriot State."
Earlier, during the 32nd OIC foreign ministers meeting held in the summer of 2005 in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, the OIC urged members and the OIC secretary-general to improve relations with the Turkish Cypriots, while the resolution for the first time referred to the TRNC as the Turkish Cypriot State.

The OIC's resolution in the summer of 2005 was at the time considered an addendum to the 2004 proposal regarding the Turkish Cypriots. While the OIC in 2004 had called on member states to improve relations with the Turkish Cypriots, in 2005 it urged members and the OIC secretary-general to put the 2004 decision into practice. The resolution tasked the OIC secretary-general with working with the Islamic Development Bank in support of projects in Turkish Cyprus.

During the 31st ministerial OIC meeting held in 2004 in İstanbul, the general assembly had decided to upgrade the KKTC's status in the OIC from "Turkish Cypriot Muslim Community" to the "Turkish Cypriot State" as it was stated in the 2004 UN reunification plan drawn up by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

plan drawn up by former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan

Was it the UN's or Kofi Annan's.??

I think it a bit naive to think that Annan sat down with a biro (or even a word processor) and wrote the Plan himself. A more accurate description is given here:
http://www.hri.org/docs/annan/Annan_Plan_Text.html

The plan was first presented on 11 November 2002, and revised on 10 December 2002, and again on 26 February 2003. The final version of the plan was presented by the Secretary-General of the United Nations to the Parties on 31 March 2004, in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.

The Plan itself is here.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/greek/Annan_plan_31_march.doc

Its title page reads:

31 MARCH 2004

THE COMPREHENSIVE SETTLEMENT OF THE CYPRUS PROBLEM

Who the hell told you we are minority?

Actually the last article i read about the demographics indicates that the native TC`s are still the majority over here which begs the question to who actually spat that shit out about us on this forum, probably Kifeas or Piratis seeing they are the 2 most full of shit characters on here and idiots like this particular quoted monkey just recycles other peoples crap...

This was part of the article:

“According to this census, the population distribution in the Turkish Cypriot side is as follows: 121.000 those whose father, mother, grandfather and grandmother were born in Cyprus. 42.500 those whose father and mother or grandfather and grandmother were born in Turkey. 13.000 those whose one of the parents was born in Cyprus. 77.000 those who are not TRNC citizens and live in Cyprus for different reasons. In the 77.000 the 29.000 are students and Turkish citizens who came to Cyprus for work. Meanwhile, almost 1500 Maronites and Greek Cypriots live in this side.

If we count the number of the soldiers and their families that varies between 27.000-35.000, the TRNC population reaches 300.000. This number includes the 121.000 local Cypriots as well.”

Hate to break this to you mate but even with those dubious numbers you quoted 154500 is more than 120,000 hence you are a minority.

Not really because soldiers and students and temporary workers are not here to stay and they are constantly circulating so they cant be part of the population therefore they don't really count do they? Although we are not the overwhelming majority it still ruins the claims of us being "totally overrun by Turkish immigrants" and shows that its far from it.

The biggest single group of people are still the TC`s.

The TRNC does have a weird population that's for sure.
