A military coup now would certainly cause economic hardship, but for the people, not for the Army...Turkey would turn into a fascist state, people would rot in jail, but DIVIDE she will NOT...People ,especially the Kurdish dissidents would be round up and and made to sing the Turkish national anthem, morning ,noon, and evening...Democracy would be forever put on the shelf, and not one soldier leave Cyprus....A military coup would be a disaster for Cyprus.... :(

Sorry Bir, I know I may disappoint you but the Inshallah was for the division of Turkey, under any circumstances! Turkey is not a real, natural and proper nation-state, but only the oddment ("retali") of the Ottoman Empire! It is an abnormality! It is what is left from the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire, as it is awaiting its complete dissolution and disappearance! Nature dictates that empires and despotic entities emerge and then collapse and disappear! The Ottoman Empire has not yet completely disappeared, but its leftover has simply changed a hat and a name and transvestited itself into what people now call "Turkey!" One day it will be completely eradicated, like so many empires of the past! It is a law of nature!

Just shows you know nothing about Turks and Turkey. You are talking about the most patriotic group of people on our planet for Gods sake.

Your hatred for the Turks is distorting your judgement Kifeas

Turks??? Where did you read the word "Turks' in my post? Who spoke about "Turks?" The only Turks I know are the Mongoloid looking tribes of central Asia, that used to live being "enclosed" by "steel mountains," until a grey wolf had "liberated" them, supposedly in order to "rule" the whole world!

I have to disagree with you, dear Kifeas. The Ottoman Empire is well and truly finished.Perhaps even more finished than the British Empire...Republic of Turkey has a lot to be desired, but it has very little semblance to the Ottoman empire. Even after 30 years of armed struggle the PKK only manages to gather about 5000 active members, and perhaps the democratic support of only 4-5 % of Turkey's population...I suspect even this is now in grave danger of collapsing around their ears, as they sit in their caves in Northern Iraq...Turkey is safe from division as long as they remain within their present borders...Which is why they will never annex the trnc officially...Don't underestimate the eastern wisdom and the cunningness of the Turkish state...And I am not talking about the "deep state"... :!: :!:

assuming that
1. the "laws of nature" apply to human beings, human history etc

and if they do

2. whats you describe as "normal" and "ubnormal" is indeed like that.

I just LOVE your endless sweeping statements UWS; one could be forgiven for thinking you've done a global survey to determine that.
