You can get a scholarship IF you qualify, it does not mean that you can not be admitted to that university as a paying student anyway.

So when they open 5 places for TC students that has nothing to do with scholarships does it?

What does it actually mean, can TC students go to this particular university or not?

If they can, what is the whole 5 issue for, and if they couldn't before, then why not?

This is what i want to know.

Go back and re-read everything we have posted so far ... you have not understood a thing ....

And I shall ceremoniously take back that Honorary Doctorate ....

No way its mine now!

I was asking all along Phoenix, hence the point of the thread, go back and see :)

You are worried about exclusions ... it doesn't say anything about exclusions ... so long as you pass the entrance exam. On top of that they are also making available more places which will be limited to just TCs ... that discriminates against GCs not TCs ...

the university of cyprus is one of the very few progressive institutions in cyprus.
it is not controlled by the government, it is autonomous.
I believe it is a good step, and i am sure it will make efforts to offer more places in the future.

And also note that it has a Turkish studies department. Are there universities in the TRNC with departments of Hellenic studies? They certainly have enough study material lying around.
