Humanist i don't think you can really travel back and forward that easily if you are not a RoC citizen yet this does not make any difference in your status within the eyes of the university, you are still a Turk and apparently get treated like one too :?

Phoenix don't you think that example is the opposite?

They are giving scholarships, how can you compare it to this one?

You asked for places that "discriminate" according to ethnicity ...

These ethnic / other - based Scholarships are the equivalent of the reserved places in a University where all the fees are covered ... most scholarships only cover some of your fees...

Shamaran, you have valid points I shall send an email to universities in Cy giving them my opinion on the matter. It is time to be acting like a united country if we are heading towards that. And like I said many times before lead by example and if the TC leadership and administration doesn't floow suit that is their problem

Well Phoenix, this is positive discrimination for helping the less fortunate, how is that the same?

You can get a scholarship IF you qualify, it does not mean that you can not be admitted to that university as a paying student anyway.

So when they open 5 places for TC students that has nothing to do with scholarships does it?

What does it actually mean, can TC students go to this particular university or not?

If they can, what is the whole 5 issue for, and if they couldn't before, then why not?

This is what i want to know.

I am with you Humanist ... why should the Uni of Cyprus discriminate against GCs ... by not reserving a limited number of places for them also!
