GR says RoC can defend itself against Turkey.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)
I just have my reservations about their training and willingness to kill. The Turkish army regulars are trained to kill from week one.
And I suppose the Greek Army is trained to throw flowers at the enemy     Do me a favour.

You cannot land a B-52 or Globemaster on Larnaca Airport - runway too short - landing fees to high!

You can land it on the special section created on the highway close to Kornos (?) no sweat...

If the whole population of Turkey was to simultaneously piss in the Med Cyprus would be submerged under water     Defend yourself against that jelly-brain.

That's a present just for you goofball, written last year especially for ATCA where 50+ Turkish brainless extremists were left scratching their heads that the RoC even had a military...

Gr, of course you have a military and of course you'll fight tooth and nail but realistically the end result is a forgone conclusion.

Stop being silly and start accepting the fact us TCs are rightfully in Cyprus. Start showing us respect. Tell your young ones that we are not Barbaric, we are genetically similar and that we can live in peace side by side. That is the only way forward. Your way is just unacceptable by any sensible person.

I’m afraid it doesn’t work like that…

If and when YOU, the Turkish Cypriots; the remnants of the uninvited Ottomans, start showing respect to the overwhelming indigenous majority of Cyprus; the very people whose ancestors toiled on this land for some 10,000 years, FIRST… then we can look at YOUR request for respect, but NOT before thank you!

Its not respect you want from us, its more like us to treat you like our masters. You want us to be grateful for being allowed to stay in Cyprus. You want us to go back to the 60s when we were second class citizens. That's not going to happen my boy.

You are no better than me as I'm no better than you. everybody is equal. I can accept and I can live with that, can you?

Join the Army Simon. I did, no sorry the Royal Marines. I have trained in Greece and off it's islands with Greek regulars and conscripts. I am aware Turkey does not regard Greek air space, but the Greeks regard it as their own.
I rarely base army matters on comic books or war films, and I certainly don't base my facts on the Athens media. Most is from my experience in the field or from serving members of armed forces, Greek, Cypriot and British.
Saying that I do not profess to know all, or am I bound by the Official Secrets Act ?

Simon put it this way, if I were faced with a Turkish Soldier or Greek soldier running full tilt at me armed, I would shoot the Turkish soldier first. Not because I do not like him, but because he would make me shit my pants. The Greek soldier I would take out for a meze.
Please don't get me wrong I have great respect for all who serve their countries, but when push comes to shove, or my life is on the line, I fear the Turkish Army.

I agree..and in a future solution to the Cyprus problem you will both have one vote each as equals. Hows that?

I do not think there is an army in Europe or maybe the world that does not hold the Turkish army in high esteem. They are well trained, supplied with the latest weaponry and are willing to die..

Now who is talking through his arse? Are you sure you've served in a military... :?

There's like 20 countries that can turn the whole of Turkey into glass with a few mouse clicks and you think they hold her in high esteem?

Anyway, since writing that article, I have two more military surprises for our Turkish Cypriot friends who hide behind Turkey’s skirt and wave their little rice stick of bravado…

First, I’d like to introduce you to the RoC’ FIRST home designed and built military vehicle the Onisilos Fast Attack Vehicle...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aBSHp40UpA

Second, I’d like to introduce you to the National Guard’s new squadron of infamously deadly Russian Hind MIL-MI35P tank-killer choppers which you can read about here…

http://www.hostultra.com/~warmachines/h ... /mi-24.htm

With around 24 billion per annum in your wallet, there’s more good news coming this year, but I won’t post just yet… :)

Regards, GR.

GR are you talking about a Merc "Landrover"with a couple of spandau machine guns and a heavy machinegun? i refer you to a bloke called David Stirling and 1942..
As for the russian Hind i refer you to the Stinger hand held missile.
They said Titanic was unsinkable......

DT, if equality was just a case of one man one vote then I would have agreed with you too. The respect and equality I'm talking about is one that I fear the GCs are incapable of feeling for his fellow man. You have this superiority complex and that really screws up any chance of peace on the island.

GR wether they can destroy them or not, does not mean they are not held in high esteem. I never said I was in the Army, I said I was in The Royal Marines, and I am proud of my service.

Six Hinds and half a dozen 20 year old Gazelles...but compared to the Cypriot Navy, the Airforce is a powerhouse!!
