Property Protest London during President Christofias’ visit

Postby Conor » Tue May 06, 2008 8:12 pm

Hi all,

I’m Conor from the LyingBuilder website.
President Christofias will address the Cypriot Community at 3pm 18th May Alexandra Palace London.

We will be there to protest the handling of our case and to raise awareness of property problems suffered in Cyprus. Problems range from the non-issuing of title deeds, structural faults, illegal building and developers extorting immovable property tax and transfer fees.

In my particular horror the Minister of Interior told the media “an Investigating Officer has already been appointed” That was in August 2007! Since then I’ve been brutally beaten for just looking at my house from the roadside in Frenaros. Every month my lawyer Yiannos Georgiades chases the authorities for a criminal investigation into the reselling of my house and every month it’s the same. It’s stuck at the local level.

In the latest twist in my saga a lawyer who once represented us in the case is now representing the opposition. I will of course report this matter to the attorney general for disciplinary proceedings but as I have little faith in the speed of that investigation I have exposed the lawyer myself on my website.

If you have retired to Cyprus and are concerned that your children will inherit the problems of your contract like the non-issuing of your title deeds, then why not ask them to join us. It’s not just ex-pats that are suffering. I’m contacted all the time from the Greek Cypriot community who are disgusted with the way developers and lawyers are behaving and the bad reputation they are giving the island we all love. If you can be represented in London then please get in touch.

Kind Regards

Conor O’Dwyer

Property is not a right ....

Unfortunately too many plebeians seem to have moved into this sphere due to easy credit ...... and they do not seem able to conduct themselves accordingly ....

How vulgar!

Please sort your problems out with your lawyers and leave our overworked President to concentrate on more pressing matters ...

Selfish scumbag!

BOF ... there is a reason for Lawyers ... this person should learn to use the appropriate authorities properly.

I volunteered with CAB and I know too often the working classes see themselves as akin to those more familiar with the ins and outs of property and the many pitfalls ... and when they prove incompetent and ill-financed, at managing these resources, they cause mayhem for the authorities ...

The Chap just sounds like he made a mess ..... usually through not having proper contract etc ... and now expects a President no less to get him out a a domestic mess ...

Please

let's see...

1. Conor bought AND PAID the bulk of the money for a house
2. The deal was LEGALLY RECORDED at the land registry department
3. Conor had a disagreement with the builders who FAILED stick to the contract
4. They unilaterally cancelled the deal and SOLD HIS HOUSE TO SOMEONE ELSE when they saw he was not going to give in
5. They KEPT his money and wrote to him saying they would not return "never ever" it but not to worry, it was only around 65,000 pounds
6. When he tried to gather evidence outside the house, the builders BEAT HIM UP and he spent a week in Larnaca hospital
7. They were ARRESTED AND CHARGED by the police

Yeah....what was that you called Conor...selfish scumbag??????????????

Lets' have the other side then. Even the builders` lawyers dropped them as clients after the arrests. That's pretty telling if they are innocent. Their lawyers would have defended them. Instead the builders hired...guess who...Conor's old lawyers. Can you say 'conflict of interest'.

Oracle

Are you ignorant about my case or just ignorant?

“property is not a right” I suggest you read Article 17 (Right to Property) Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU - linked on my homepage.
“Easy credit” – I was a cash buyer, no credit needed but I’m not going to let some thug escape with my hard earned money.

I did use an independent lawyer who had never met the developer before; I spent 3 months tailoring the contract to my needs. I registered the contract in the lands registry for specific performance. They have still unlawfully sold my house to another family.

Your knee jerk reply within 15 minutes was not enough to even scratch the surface of my case. My case is an open book and a disgrace on Cyprus. (Cypriot words not mine!)

I would rather be working class than like yourself have no class at all.
I'm sure the Citizens Advice Bureau are better off without you.

All I know about you is that you have made nearly 3,000 posts since mid Feb. I cannot compete with your verbal diarrhoea and my time will be better spent writing letters to others.

BOF & Bill thanks for your support.

Thanks Damsi for following my case.
Our posts crossed in Cyberspace.
I may not have time to educate Oracle (inept name!) in the coming days.
