Well another considered, reasoned, well thought out and educated response there from 'Oracle (oh the irony)'

The fact remains that we will continue to press for the legal system in Cyprus to be dragged into the 20th century then we'll start on the 21st, and an end to the unscrupulous and illegal tactics used by both developers and solicitors.

I've worked more than five years and gained
some valuable experience. But I wish my
savings account could have grown a little
faster, perhaps as fast as my bald spot.

Then at least I'd be able to afford a good
toupee. Or a lifetime supply of Rogaine.

Instead, I'll have to resort to the poor man's
solution: the comb-over. Or buy a small toupee. As
every bald man knows, a little hair can go a long
way. Especially if it gets caught in the wind.

But maybe I can find an easy way to
become rich.

I could play the lottery and become an
instant millionaire. But the chances of
winning are rather slim. It's like betting on
Howard Stern going five minutes without
mentioning sex.

I could marry a rich woman and share some
of her wealth. But I'm having enough trouble
trying to marry a poor woman.

That leaves me with only one promising
option: finding someone to sue.

It's the American way. The fastest way to
become rich is to sue the rich. Or at least
threaten to sue. The settlement could be
worth $1 million.

I could settle for that.

Heck, I could settle for a tenth of that. I'd be
a billionaire in Mexico.

Whatever happens to you in life, you can
always find someone to sue. And if you
can't, your lawyer will.

Failed a test? Sue your teacher for not
preparing you.

Drove your car into a tree? Sue the tree's
owner for planting it so close to the road.

Drank too much beer and bumped your
head on the floor? Sue the beer company
for not warning you to wear a helmet.

The City of Philadelphia is reportedly
considering suing cigarette companies for
the costs of fighting fires started by people
smoking in bed. They've hired an attorney
named Sue Themall.

Pretty soon they'll be suing spray paint
companies for the cost of cleaning graffiti.
And dog owners for the cost of repainting
fire hydrants.

The families of three students killed in a
1997 school shooting in West Paducah, Ky.,
believe the gunman was inspired by a
movie, a video game and several
pornographic web sites. They're suing
Time Warner, Sony, Nintendo and others.
I'm surprised they're not suing Al Gore, the
inventor of the Internet.

When it comes to suing, the possibilities are
endless. Which means I won't have any
trouble becoming rich.

I'll sue Breyers and other ice cream makers
for failing to warn me that their products are
addictive and can make me gain weight.

I'll sue Ford, Toyota and others for making
cars that go faster than the speed limit. And
making their seats so comfortable, you
can't help falling asleep.

I'll sue Tommy Hilfiger for designing clothes
I can't afford and making me look
old-fashioned.

I'll sue Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky for
wasting my time and corrupting my mind.

I'll sue Jerry Seinfeld for ending his show
and ruining my Thursday nights.

And of course, I'll sue my mother for giving
me bad genes and forcing me to worry
about baldness. If it weren't for these genes,
I'd have as much hair as Koko the gorilla.
And I'd probably be as intelligent.

Write to me if you'd like to be sued, too. My
lawyer would hate to leave you out.

For some this may be helpful, for some a hindrance; I don't know? :?
It is not for the Oracle to pass judgement or opinion but guide towards finding one's own inner truth, IMHO

Now what are those Laws about harassment as Oracle is thinking certain parasitic-posters are merely hatching to infect her!

I find it neither a help nor a hindrance Oracle but are you suggesting we live in a lawless society where there are no laws or are you suggesting that when people break the laws that do exist to suit their own ends that we just lie down and let them do it and get away with it?
If so, why are you bothering to attempt to right the wrongs of 1974? Why did you not just say, okay they can have it because this is what you expect us to do?

Hello Jan, nice to have met you at the protest.

Conor, was busy last Thursday hand delivering our letters and so we must now exercise patience and await a response, if any!!

I am still recovering from the cold in London and am so glad to be back over here.

I agree, the fight will not end, until justice prevails in ALL our cases. It does seem that on this forum and indeed on others that there are hypocrites who write absolute drivel. They spout about injustices done to them whilst advocating the injustice done to those who invest here. Hmmm doesn't seem to make much sense to me.

The effects of us not buying here in the future will be seen as the property market has now slowed down. Empty buildings, bankrupt developers and builders and more importantly no more work for unscrupulous solicitors. Goodness me now who will they blame for this bleak look at the future.

We are not to blame for 1974, we are not proud of 1974 so why are we being punished and abused for something that happened before our time?

Yes it is still in living memory we have never denied that but we were not part of it so please all we ask is for justice within the legal system of Cyprus.

Again Jan it was good to meet you, by the way how was BOB???

House prices never fall on a permanent basis Jo Jo.
I paid £5250 for my first house in 1978. With an average house price now of £218,112 in the UK, I could never afford one as a first time buyer and feel sorry for anyone anywhere trying to get on the ladder.

Hi Di Di
Well the protest certainly seems to have stirred one of my developers up. I wrote to their lawyers this morning saying that I had attended the protest but had not yet sent my letter regarding their treatment of me.
I've had a letter back this afternoon offering me 6948 Euros compensation compared to the CYP£300 they were previously offering.

Do we really need two boring threads like these cluttering up the forum ?

... kindly stick to one for your inane exchanges
