Yet again, Oracle [gosh what an insult to the word] seems to look at one side of the coin.

We know and admit not everything in the UK is perfect, as stated previously, i also had problems with UK builders but at least the judicial system sorted it out in the favour of honesty.

Oracle, your tone is so acidic at all times and is it any wonder that we, collectively, find you so offensive, one sided, biased, rude, ignorant in refusing to accept that things are wrong here, and more than likely have family in the trades that are so blatantly corrupt here.

I rest my case, you are certainly not worth my time nor anyone elses trying to reason with you.

You are totally without sympathy for anyone except you and your history and maybe one day you will realise that this world does not just revolve around this tiny island.

We chose to come here, live peacefully, invest, be acceptable to the Cypriot people and you single handedly are doing your level best to alienate yourselves from us. Might i ask why? Please do not keep going on about 1974 as that really does not wash with the majority of the Cypriot people. I know as i live amongst them, speak to many and receive their help and sympathy. Why are you so nasty???

Dear Sir,

Property protest during President Christofias visit to London

First we would like to apologise for the short notice given for our actions this weekend. Our family and many others will be protesting at Alexandra Palace this Sunday 18th May where President Christofias is to address the Greek Cypriot community. This stop over by the President of the Republic of Cyprus was announced only last week.

Our family’s plight has only recently deteriorated to a place where we have realised that the judicial system in Cyprus is inept and totally corrupt at a local level. This is a rare opportunity for victims such as us to express our disgust that this island of fraud was allowed to join the EU with its legal system in such a state and its property industry so full of pitfalls.

We understand from your blog the FCO is fully aware of the Property issues in Cyprus including “dishonest estate agents and lawyers” and cannot become involved with private property disputes. Unfortunately many cases such as ours have taken on extra dimensions that have violated our basic Human Rights.

For over a year now we have detailed our plight on our website http://www.lyingbuilder.com and on YouTube. We have exposed a crooked property developer and his lawyers who act with impunity. Our case is a disgrace on the Property Industry in Cyprus where it has been front page news. The Minister of Interior assured the television media in August 2007 that a criminal investigation into our case is underway. We have attached two letters to the Attorney General in Nicosia as a sample of what has been ignored.

In summary; I (Conor O’Dwyer) have been assaulted twice the last time was this January where I spent 6 days in hospital and am still suffering. Our house has been unlawfully sold to another British family despite being registered to us in the Lands Registry and our money retained (see attached). A Barrister who once represented us now represents the opposition in the same case. We’ve had to use 4 different law firms in 18 months to make any headway and are now living in rented accommodation in Surrey.

We hope that after this event you will find time in your calendar to meet us in person where we can go into detail not only on our plight but other victims and the broader problems facing expats in Cyprus. Some of these cases are already on the way to Strasbourg. In the mean time please go to our website where our family’s plight is diarised in minute detail.

If TCs have the right to live where generations before them lived, why do you not attribute the same rights to GCs!
