The vast majority of first generation Cypriots in the UK are leftists. This is obvious from the support the AKEL branch has in England. For many years it was the best organised party with its own weekly newspaper (Parikiaki Haravgi). I remember in the 70's there were 3 Greek language newspaper. "Vima" and "Parikiaki" both affiliated to the left and "Ta Nea" a right wing newspaper. The first two between them sold about 15 000 copies and the third about 300, mostly given free!
So, in order to get a fair view of the feeling about EOKA you need to approach a leftist organisation. They are the most numerous regarding popular support.
