This passes as "development", which for many is a synonym of "improvement". What a joke!

Someday in the not too distand future the people who did this will have to answer for the desecration of the landscape. This is as bad as the conurbation that now stretches from Kyrenia to Lapithos. Bad taste seems to be common to both sides of the Green Line, proving that Cypriots do share a common "culture" after all!

Nice pics, but it looks like the village is surrounded.

For those of us that remember Peyia as the little craggy village on the way to Paphos, such views do not bring comfort and joy ... :(

And to think all this transformation has happened in less than a decade.

(But what can you expect when 40% of the island is occupied by Turkish troops, fueling the shortage of space ...... However, delete this contributing factor from your minds as we mustn't mention the war in General Chat.)

And exactly what you expect from the greedy developers irrespective of a invasion or not ~ this is definitely not something you can blame on the Turkish oracle.

I'm surprised you haven't blamed the British too

I said the shortage was fueled, not that it was the only reason.

But exactly how much land do the developers have ( 40%?) to build homes for legally resident RoC citizens, and how much do the Turkish Troops section for Turkey?

Emm.. Paphos, Lebanon is closer than Pafos :-)

To the people of Larnaca/Agia Napa/Derynia, Paphos is like a a different country. I think I went there twice, it was good, especially playing "spot the greek". lol

cyprusgrump,
forget about fisheye for panoramas - it is optically impossible.
you may shot any pics using usual lens, making all pix at any sequence that cover 360 or less and Autopano will combine panorama for you.
