Yes, you're right, even within English speaking countries there are local dialects which make the overall language richer but there is one tiny aspect of US English I must take you to task about.
It's the abreviation for mathematics. We say "maths" and you say "math" ( sounds like an old song ). When said in a sentence your version doesn't sound right.
