On a more general point, men with earrings is like any other fashion. On some it looks great, but on the many who can't carry it off for one reason or another but are just following the latest fashion, it looks awful. Think mini-skirts, pony-tails, boob tubes, platform soles, flares - almost any passing fad you care to add.

Nothing wrong with mini-skirts, but not every girl's legs look better for being revealed by them.

When I was young and athletic I wore speedo swimming trunks on the beach and looked (putting modesty to one side) quite the thing.
Now I am older, and my muscular chest has migrated to where my muscular stomach used to be, I wear less revealing swimwear.
Just a matter of taste.
As for only the girls with pretty legs showing them off, not necessarily, but if I was a girl with poor legs and a pretty face, I wouldn't wear a mini-skirt as it would emphasise my worst feature, and draw attention away from my best.
