Sorry Bro', decided to take an Easter break...

Anyway, with just 36 hours before the polls open... and with the excitement reaching fever pitch!!!

3rd May, 2005

Labour 38.8%
Conservative 30.8%
Lib Dems 22.2%
Others 8.2%

Assuming these were reflected in the actual vote on May 5th, and assuming that no tactical voting takes place (unlikely, but never mind), the parties would end up with the following number of seats (with change since 2001 election):

Labour 398 (-5 )
Conservative 160 (-5)
Lib Dems 59 (+8 )
Others 29 (+2)

Labour overall majority of 150.

I think the polls are way out... but in 60 hours from now, we'll know for sure...

Final update tomorrow... hold onto your seats folks...

Thanks moosey,

a lot of people that i have been talking too recently all voted labour last time round say they will not vote for them this time but will either go conservative or lib dem, so these polls actually might be wishful thinking and we might be in for a surprise, fingers crossed.

It's the final day of campaigning and the excitement is literally killing me...

Here's the final update before the all important ultimate poll tomorrow... for those of you who can and will be going to the polling stations... happy voting! :allout:

4th May, 2005

Labour 39.2%
Conservative 30.3%
Lib Dems 22.3%
Others 8.2%

Assuming these were reflected in the actual vote on May 5th, and assuming that no tactical voting takes place (unlikely, but never mind), the parties would end up with the following number of seats (with change since 2001 election):

Labour 401 (-2)
Conservative 160 (-5)
Lib Dems 59 (+8 )
Others 26 (-1)

Labour overall majority of 156.

Final comment from me is that again, I think the polls are way out. I'm not sure where they're getting these figures from, but I don't think they reflect reality. I also think the marginal constituencies will be vital in determining the final outcome.

Final prediction from me:

Labour 347 (-56)
Conservative 213 (+48 )
Lib Dems 60 (+9)
Others 26 (-1)

Labour overall majority of 48.

Remember, polls open at 7:30am BST and election coverage begins when the polls close at 10pm (I'd suggest watching BBC coverage, tends to be more heavyweight than ITV's lite-coverage). For those of you outside the UK, you may be able to watch via the BBC news website.

With my eyes literally bulging with anticipation... ... there has been a frenzy of last-minute polling with the results announced this evening...

So here's the final final update before tomorrow's all-important voting...

4th May, 2005 (PM)

Labour 37.8%
Conservative 31.5%
Lib Dems 22.5%
Others 8.2%

Assuming these were reflected in the actual vote tomorrow, and assuming that no tactical voting takes place (unlikely, but never mind), the parties would end up with the following number of seats (with change since 2001 election):

Labour 391 (-12)
Conservative 172 (+7)
Lib Dems 57 (+6)
Others 26 (-1)

Labour overall majority of 136.

Nonetheless, I stick by my final prediction of:

Labour 347 (-56)
Conservative 213 (+48 )
Lib Dems 60 (+9)
Others 26 (-1)

Labour overall majority of 48.

We'll see if the pollsters deserve their redundancy cheques tomorrow...
