A | A | A TALLAHASSEE -- A company that has stirred up controversy among local leaders has decided against making Tallahassee its new home.
Cyprus Systems was considering relocating to Tallahassee's Innovation Park. The company now says they've ruled out coming to Florida altogether.
Leon County and Tallahassee commissioners voted giving the company nearly a million dollars to get the company here. Some commissioners say it was a bad idea all along.
"I think when we started asking some difficult questions the company probably saw the handwriting on the wall and figured they'd do better going to a place where there wasn't that kind of introspection," said Cliff Thaell, a Leon County commissioner.
The Economic Development Council says it will still pursue building a new facility at Innovation Park, that can be used by students for research. The group hopes it will make Tallahassee more competitive in the bio-tech industry.
Let me guess who Cyprus Systems is.................is it red riding hood?
