Greek mythology was one of my favourite subjects at school, I also loved Keats "ode to a grecian urn" so romantic!!!
I am a bit more vulgar!!! By nature!!!!
Vulgar like this selection of beasts ... or one of the other meanings of Vulgar?
Argus - the 100 eyed giant that served his master, Hera.
Calydonian Boar - a vicious, giant boar sent to ravage the kingdom of Calydon.
Centaurs - animals with the torso of a man and the rest of a horse.
Cerbrus - the dread hound of Hades, who devoured any souls trying to escape from the Underworld; with 3-50 heads that dripped venom from his fangs.
Cercopes - depicted as mischievous, thieving monkeys (bit like Turks).
Cyclopes - with only one eye in their head.
Echidna - the half woman half serpent who fed on the flesh of men.
Erinyes - the bitch headed goddesses of punishment, who smelled like rotting blood and had burning eyes.
Geryon - a three-bodied and six handed monster.
Gigantes - Giants conceived when Uranus was castrated and his blood fell upon Gaia.
Gorgons - three disgusting sisters with snakes for hair.
Harpies - fat birds with the face and breasts of women.
Hydra - when one head was severed two more grew in its place.
Ladon - the dragon.
Minotaur - half man half bull.
Python - a tormenting serpent.
Satyrs - half men, half goat or monkey.
Scylla - with six dog heads that were attached to long, scaly necks.
Sirens - women faced birds that sang and lured sailors.
Sphinx - a lion, a bird and woman all in one.
Or my favourite one of all:
Chimera - the volcanic, troublesome combination of a lions head, goats body and a serpent’s tail.
