Title-deeds for the occupied Greek Cypriot properties

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Nikitas wrote:Expropriation of property is an old Turkish ploy used over and over, against the Greeks of Istanbul, Imvros, Tenedos, and Smyrni. It worked for a while, then they realised that getting into the EU while robbing people of their property is not such a smart idea. Now they are returning property in Istanbul, and are relaxing the nonsense on Imvros and Tenedos.

Cyprus is another case though, and there they are going to get their worse wake up call. It will come when the foreigners who bought GC land start suing for fraud.

And you think there would have been honour amongst thieves...

Little do they know these measures only stimulate hate and mistrust which helps TCs unite in their resolve to continue on with their fight to be recognized despite the GCs.

No need to ask anyone VP, when you follow international law then no one can "harm" you. The question is DO YOU FOLLOW INTERNATIONAL LAW? CAN YOUR ACTIONS BE COVERED BY INTERNATIONAL LAW? You decided to accept and congratulate illegalities, that's your choice. Therefore, I don't see why you cry that you are "isolated". If you believe that you are isolated then you have to apply to those that made you hostages in your own country (if you're a Tc). When you follow the illegal path then you have to be prepared for the consequences.
If it could happen it would have happened a long time ago and the first to lift the so called embargoes would have been your closest allies, US & UK. But no matter how strong they are international law is stronger.
Following the receipt of an application from Kibris Turkish Airlines, the Government has carefully considered whether it would be possible to approve direct flights from the UK to Ercan airport in northern Cyprus. We have received clear legal advice that, under the terms of the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation, the Republic of Cyprus would first have to designate Ercan as an international airport. They have not done so, and we have concluded that to approve such flights would be incompatible with both our international obligations under the Chicago Convention and our domestic legal obligations. http://www.number-10.gov.uk/output/Page11602.asp

Visiting British Prime Minister Tony Blair said on Saturday that Britain could start direct flights to northern Cyprus unless there is a legal obstacle.

..."embargoes" stimulate hate and mistrust?! Really? and what about selling our properties? what about destroying our cultural heritage? what about turning our churches into mortuaries, stables etc. ....what do all the above ...stimulate, my friend?

You look forward to recognition. It can't and it won't happen, why? I will leave you to answer the question. I'm sure you are clever enough to know the answer. :)

Rafella, the hate and mistrust chain will continue to hold strong as long as no bold steps are taken to break out of this syndrome. For us survival was the name of the game when the legalities were abused by no other than yourselves, pushing us to pursue a safe haven away from the discriminative and manipulative "majority". You stole our country and made it just yours, what did you expect me to do wait around for you to allow me my basic rights to live in Cyprus and not Greece. Where were your legalities when we we isolated, persecuted and discriminated against? Nothing much has really changed even today you still pursue policies to ensure we are isolated and discriminated against.

The safe haven we have created for ourselves does not come without its price which on the face of it we are willing to pay ten times over just to avoid what you have in store for us being reduced to minority status in a GC state run by GCs.

This of course will not stop us from working for recognition as a solution imho will never be found because the chasm is to wide and neither side is willing to compromise, any forced solution will only end up in bloodshed and therefore the status quo will remain for a very long time to come.

As for the selling of GC property which is unavoidable as the TRNC grows, if we were allowed to develop in other areas and not isolated from doing direct trade or flying in tourists direct then people would not be so willing to sell of exchanged land. So you are really cutting off your nose despite your face, I always argue for a level playing field, why do you not allow me what you see fit for yourselves eg no army in the south no army in the north, 2 airports in the south 2 in the north etc etc think about it for a while and ask yourself why is it you cannot see fit for me what you see fit for yourself unless GCs are in charge???

If and when you agree to have Napalm dropped on your house so that your home and family members get toasted, and then have tanks and infantry pursue any surviving family members and thus flee to some other part of the island where you spend the next 3.5 months in squalor living in a tent, and many years thereafter living in a 3x4 makeshift shack trying to make ends meet with nothing, don’t even THINK about EVER judging me again, thank you.

VP , just to remind you again that THE ENTIRE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY , EACH AND EVERY WORLD ORGANIZATION SEES CYPRUS AND THE ROC AS THE ONLY LEGITIMATE AUTHORITY IN CYPRUS.
Inverted commas first used by the third world peasants of Anatolia are profoundly ridiculous more so when the promotion of what the World sees as an occupied part of Cyprus is proclaimed as a true Republic !!!
The ROC is the only recognised internationally government of Cyprus and so say the UN , the EU and the mighty EURO !! Now compare the EURO and the strength of it to the declining power of the Turkish Lira. Come on now , are you telling the world that the so named by Turkey TRNC happens to be the ONLY legal entity !!!! Lets get real and lets get on with solving our Cyprovb for the sake of our future generations. Turkey rules the occupied part , you know it and all T/Cs know it too !!

NO. When will you realize that without our say you cannot solve jack shit get all the world on your side, get all the recognition, get all the court decision you want, it doesnt make us want a soluon anymore, it just strengthens our resolve to defend not being reduced to minority status in our own country.
