In which case they had better start behaving in a more civilised fashion and follow the habits of the rest of us in creating a better world for all.
No more treating Turks with reverence, as though they can go around behaving as they wish regardless of the Laws, and we all turn around and shush each other so that we do not offend them.
How are they going to learn the difference between right and wrong, and hence improve, if we don't make them aware.
Respect the Turk enough to tell him the truth about the unacceptability of his actions; no matter how much he is offended. We owe it to Humanity.
..... but as for letting them join the EU ..... Never!.... ultimately the real essence of community lies less in the significance of physical structures and more in a series of fluid social interactions, underpinned by a shared code of cultural norms and values....
Hmmmm.......Interesting comment, but Greece was allowed to join the EU despite the ethnic cleansing and genocide of Macedonians in Northern Greece weren't they

The Macedonians are in north Greece as they have always been, speaking the same language as they always did, and having the Greek names they always had. So can you tell us when the Macedonians where ethnically cleansed?
If you are talking about Slavs (not Macedonians), they had some conflicts with Greeks in the past, but nothing remotely as close as with the conflicts they had with the Turks.
The Greeks have merely liberated part of their own lands. On the other hand the Turks oppress and occupy the lands of others.
An equivalent for the Greeks would be if we had claims over Persia and Egypt because once they were part of our empire. Once Alexandria in Egypt was full with Greek people. Now not. Should we accuse the Egyptians of ethnically cleansing the Greeks there? Should we claim that the true Egyptians are Greek, because we created Alexandria and Cleopatra was Greek?
In fact we would have more historical base to claim that Egypt is Greek, than for those Slavs of Skopje to claim that Macedonia is Slavic.

Would you rather have Turkey outside the tent pissing in (Cyprus) and pissing around as well (Iraq, Armenia, Kurdistan) etc ? Or would you rather have Turkey inside the tent not pissing at all ?
If the conditions of EU membership are indeed a serious reform of the state and if Turkey meets those criteria then surely it should be welcomes with open arms ? If the conditions of EU membership prove difficult to fulfil then surely one would want to give Turkey as much encouragement and support in actually fulfilling those conditions rather than ... pissing on Turkey for its efforts ?

She wont try anything against Greece because she know she could get an arse whipping. They only pick on weaker nations.
Who know when our oil starts to flow what Americas stance will be then. But knowing America they love oil that may be our window where we can finally nail Turkey.
