Boomerang, I enquired with the PC last year about their proceedure for compensation/restitution/exchange. They are badly organised, access to them is not easy you have to find them first and then they tell you to apply in Turkish. If you don't like their offer you then can go to the ECHR. I wrote to the ECHR and told them that because the PC was poorly run I had no faith in them and would like to apply to the Court, they sent me all the necessary paperwork to start a claim they did not say you must use the PC first - that surprised me. If a few more Cypriots did what I have done I think the Court would soon realise that the PC is a not an effective or efficient body.

With regard to TCs taking action through the EHCR I'm sure there are some who would claim that they were forced to leave their homes in 1963/4, I have seen the empty villages.

The PC have settled over 40 cases one been the last being the agreed swap, there are 500 more cases waiting appraisal and conclusion. You can employ a TC lawyer help you with the paper work just like we employ GC lawyers to pursue our cases in the "RoC".

Well VP at least in the "so called" ROC any legal action is RECOGNISED THE WORLD OVER !!! Since the ROC is the ONLY legal entity in Cyprus how can you come to terms with reality , and reality states that the International community endorses the ROC as the only legal entity in the whole of Cyprus. Remember also that Turkey , a foreign country , is occupying the part of Cyprus that the entire world calls occupied Cyprus .

I am pleased for the refugees at least Turkey is helping them with money more than can be said for the "RoC" who caused their problems in the first place.

After 2 years the PC has settled 40 cases, are you sure about this or do you mean they have heard 40 cases. Have all those asking for restitution got it ? Don't make things up show us the evidence. By my reckoning it will take another 6 years to conclude the outstanding cases so if you have 5000 cases some would have to wait 60 years.

Why hasn't the PC got a website? Why can't you easily access its address in Nicosia through the internet?

It's not a case of "you can employ a TC lawyer", you have to unless you speak Turkish.

Your probably right but it might be a ploy to get GCs to visit the TRNC to apply but a TC lawyer would be advisable we to have use them as everything is Greek to us in south Cyprus.
