Registering a birth when you're not married!!!

Postby jojo1973 » Tue Apr 22, 2008 11:50 am

Myself and my partner of 12 years have a 10 year old daughter and are due to have another one in september. I've been told that to register a birth in Cyprus when unmarried you have to stand before a judge in larnaca. Someone else has told me this is rubbish, has anyone had any experience of this?

Thanks

When in Europe, do as Europeans do. It's not a problem anywhere else in Europe.

That is certainly another option.

I don't think you need to do anything to register the child. But probably it will be register just as the child of a single woman and there should be some procedure to register a guy as the father. This is just my guess.
