We are considering moving to Lympia does anyone have any advice good or bad on the village. Also how easy to commute to either Larnaca or Nicosia. Thanks

Had a couple of visits there last Autumn. Quiet little village very near the highway to Nicosia (15 mins if no traffic to Nic; and southeastwards in the other direction towards Larnaca and Ayia Napa).

Some old stone houses being restored in the village, I'm told by ex-pat Brits. Probably a pretty neglected place in the past given its proximity to the buffer zone ( no offence intended to the good people of the village).

A local did tell me that there wasn't a great deal of water in the area so do ensure your water supply. The local earth is a dry, friable, whitish soil, which left the impression with me of a dusty little place, but then again it was the end of a long dry summer.

Isn't the garbage dump from Tersefanou supposed to be moved to Lympia to make way for the PGA golf course?

Which reminds me of the plans for a liquid waste site somewhere in the area and the protests that followed, with cars being dumped from bridges on to the highway below last year.

Not a good choice. There are many other way better villages to choose from.

Thanks for the advice, will look for somewhere nearer Nicosia, Aglantzia, or Strolovos areas.

You might try Pera Chorio Nisou, Aghia Barbara...just on the outskirts of Nicosia and a short commute.
