Cynical Cypriots ......

Are Cypriots the greatest Cynics in the World?

Yes some acceptance of Yoga is seeping in, a passing sniff at the wonders of Aromatherapy and alternative therapies over traditional.

But try and get a new idea past them, and they nit-pick it to destruction.

Why are they so cynical? :?

..... or do they know something the rest of the World does not! 8)

I dont think the Cypriots are cynical at all. They do not tolerate fools easily and they generally call a spade a spade . They like to take the piss out of the absurd and the ridiculous where most Europeans just accept the bizarre and ridiculous with a shrug of the shoulders and a raise of the eye brows . Some time back a young man came into our showroom and I couldn't help noticing this great big nail protruding from his lower lip down to the end of his chin. I chuckled , looked him up and down and said " What the fuck are you doing with this bloody nail man , are you f..ng stupid or just plain thick !! Hes never been back since !!!
There was this woman with this contraction stuck up her nostrels , a bit like a gerato , I said to her " what did you have for breakfst hay or what !!
Yes , Cypriot men are cynical when the occasion demands it !! Make sure you get a shave now O !!

I wasn't just referring to Cypriot men Miltiades although I am beginning to realise the World would stop revolving if they didn't figure first and foremost in all things!

Conservative yes, but cynical no. They reject aromatotherapy but accept that being touched by the smoke of incense will heal a headache if not more. That is conservative.

Cynicism is the province of some close neighbors. Wont say who to prevent a flaming.

When I'm in a cynical mood... I doubt we will ever get rid of the 40,000 Turkish troops occupying our country.... but mostly I'm optimistic and I know we will shortly remove the oppressors of our Freedom .... :)

I think tavli is boring now that hubby has taught me (after being taught by my dad  ) ... hate throwing dice ... leave nothing to chance is my motto...

And I don't think any of them Turks can play chess :?
