Unlike Alexis, I happen to know TP personally and there's no point in repeating myself... in the same way that Talat pays lip service to the Turkish military to keep the annual handouts coming into the "TRNC", so too does the RoC president to benefit in whichever way he sees fit.

And not to mention Greece’s Imia debacle where not even one of their islands being occupied by Turks was enough reason for the Greek navy to get a spine!

I am not too pleased with you GR. Your anti Greek ethos is extremely irritating. You can not change the spots on a leopard and most Cypriots are going to maintain their Helenism as they have done so for thousands of years. Turkish Cypriots will also maintain their ethnos and no matter how much you try to convince Cypriots (GCs and TCs) to abandon their identity to adopt Cypriotism, they will just see you as a mere trickster.

If you argued that Cypriots (GCs and TCs) adopt Cypriotism as there only national identity and to put Cyprus first then I would not be argueing with you as this I beleive is achievable. However, what you say is for all Cypriots to abandon their ethnic identity, their ethnos, and their culture. I do not beleive that most GCs or TCs are willing or able to do this.

Therefore the key for a solution is tolerance. That is all GCs and TCs living together in a united Cyprus with Cypriotism as our mutual bond as a national identity and for each community to be able to maintain it's own culture, identity and ethnos.

GR!s argument against the Greeks cuts all ways.

If he wants to erase Hellenic influence he also wants to erase all others.

He just thinks it's more politically acceptable, to start with that, which is closer to home. Destroy Cypriot-Hellenism first, then move on to the next main influence .... Turkish Culture, then Armenian etc.

Just to be on the safe side, throw out the women too!
