What culture does AKEL respect? Could that be that they respect the Turkish culture by waving Turkish flags at Omonia games? Or is it the Che culture that they respect?

I do not beleive in superior race. I beleive in freedom where people can express themselves in any way they wish. No one has the right to convince anyone to abandon their Greek or Turkish identity and ethnos.

This anti greek stuff really is getting to me. Cypriotism is fine, but if it were not for greek culture, then Cyprus would have lost 500,000 second and third generations of Cypriots. Stop fooling your selves, Cypriots are predominately influenced by Greek and Turkish cultures and this will continue to be the case for thousands of years.

Greeks are not clowns, but I agree with you on the church.

Is the Greek culture the only culture that have contributed to the island? The island was not empty when some Greeks arrrived on the island or you think it was empty and others have contributed nothing.

You said that If it was not for the Greek culture .......... YOu say exactly the same thing that the Greek race is the best of the world and all the rest are Inferior human beings . It is this Hypocricy that created all the problems in Cyoprus including the 1974 events. Union with Greece the "Superior Country on Earth"

No. Greeks are not the only ones who contributed to Cyprus. There were other small settlements in Cyprus when the Greeks arrived. There were also many invaders which also left their mark and also blended with the Greek culture. Greek and Turkish culture are the current dominant cultures on the island. Greek culture has been existant for thousands of years and Turkish culture for 500 years. Do you think people can just switch this off by the press of a button?

Nationalism is a totally different issue altogether. And I agree that nationalism has created the present day ridiculousness. Do not start with calling me a nationalist as I think that it is a scourge. I do not think anyone is superior at all. It seems I must repeat my self once again. A solution to the Cyprus problem depends on tolerance where all Cypriots live together in an equal and fair society which is tolerant to every Cypriots (GCs and TCs) needs and freedom of expression.

Your assertions that GCs and TCs can just switch off their Hellenic and Ottoman culures is laughable. Yes, adopt Cypriotism as a national bonding nationality that puts our country Cyprus first, forget the nationalistic connections to any motherlands, and tolerate all resident cultures on the island whether that be Greek, Turkish, Armenian, Latin, Maronite, or English.

It is Hellenic culture that has allowed parents to instill any kind of connection the second and third generations of the diaspora have and maintain a connecton to Cyprus.

500,000 is a very conservative figure of second, third and subsequent generations of Cypriots living in the diaspora. Considering the Cypriot population of UK, Australia and US, there are probably more.

Correction: It is foolish, ignorant, and uneducated Cypriot parents that ADOPTED the Hellenic culture instead of their own and took it with them to the diaspora, just so that they could breed people like you to pass on their fallacies, so that Greece may continue the embezzlement of the Cypriot inheritance!

…but not all hope is lost, because you have luckily found your way to the CF where unkie GR will slowly but surely show you the other side of the coin. 8)

Geeze you are so full of it. By the way thanks for calling my parents uneducated fools. I beleive you do not have the right as you do not know me or my family.

All Cypriot parents in the diaspora have done the best that they can do to educate their children and to teach them the right way and instill a connection to Cyprus. They taught their children about their Cypriot culture which incidently is so Hellenic that you could say it is almost identical.

To be totally honest, I find many of your posts very irritating and arrogant.

It's all part of the breaking-in process… soon you too will be a devout convert ready to embrace your glorious Cypriot destiny. Have a look at the effect I have had on other members… 8)

VP now speaks fluent Greek, Deniz recites “chattista”, Oracle now wears a dress, Zan no longer needs a shrink, Sotos is growing hair, DT eats all his greens, Bananiot has quit hugging trees although he still sometimes urinates on them but we’re working on it, and last but not least, Piratis has replaced his hook for a tennis racket! :)

Regards, GR.

It is me that is going to break you. I am going to convert this fascination of yours with Paphites into something more honourable such as acknowledging Cyprus 3,500 years of Hellenic culture. You will reconnect with your Hellenic roots over time with a bit of Paphitico manipulation.
