An good ISP hardly ever has problems anyway. CableNet did not have any problems, and I never needed to call them for support. I was with them for a year. Having said this, you can always go in-person to them, in nearly all cities apart from Paphos, so what's the problem. You can speak to a real person if you live in their main areas. Their prices come without a catch, and you can probably download all day without them saying anything. With PrimeTel there is a catch to how much you can download.

Spidernet was excellent support-wise until they were taken over by Primetel (in the last few months). Now I am still officially with Spidernet, but most of the support is provided by Primetel. Fortunately I can still get hold of a couple of the original Spidernet people, so it is not too bad.

'The higher speeds are irrelevant most of the time as the sites you visit can't handle them, 1 MB is quite often as good as 10 MB.

I know SNET very well, and I know you are talking rubbish, so stop speaking this propaganda. I never had a problem with CableNet, their support is not bad, whenever I had a problem I use to go to them personally and they always helped me. I never suffered any disconnections or any lack in speeds. You can call them, if you cannot solve your problem via phone, you can always go in person.

Did I mention their prices, yep, fairly good I must say. I am always out of the country, and CableNet let me pause my subscription without much problem, and there is no contract tie in either, so what's to complain about.

10mb is not as good as 1mb, seriously, I think you should take a reality check. I suppose 10mb is as good as 100mb then. I use the internet all the time, trust me, it makes a difference.

It may make a difference for people that just spend all day downloading porn, but serious internet users will not see a lot of difference between 1 MB and 10 MB with most sites.

I need it for my job, I think I am a serious internet user. I suggest you stop speaking if you know little of what you are saying, non-serious internet user. Eventually speeds will exceed 50mb/s because services are becoming more demanding. Take a look at how HD evolved, and how services are allowing you to subscribe to streaming of live-TV. Eventually speeds will have to be increased, but a 10mb/s connection is a good place to start.

Why would you want to go and see someone in person, what is the point of the internet?

I have been asking Cablenet for 2 months now to sort out the bill for my company and I have had bugger all. They will probably cut-me off because I didn't pay the bill I didn't receive!

I have downloaded loads of stuff through my home connection (Spidernet/Primetel) and have not had any problem with the amount of data I grab.

Having been in the computer industry since 1974, I do not call support for trivial things, only when I have a major problem and Cablenet can't handle those!

You are talking about Cyprus, things still need to be done in person. I understand what you are saying, but you do not live in the UK anymore, Cyprus still requires a personal touch.

You can set up a standing order, with CableNet I told them to send me a text message when I had to pay the bill, and they do so. So I can go in person and use my credit card if I did not want to have a standing order. I proffered using a credit card anyway, so that I can rack up my sunmiles.

I cannot see your logic behind your problem. I know the industry well. I too got disconnected twice from CableNet for not paying the bill, but as soon as I went in person and paid the bill they connected me straight away. I now have this SMS service, like I mentioned above.

CableNet is an excellent ISP, did you know with PrimeTel connection they can disconnected you for d/load too much. Did you also know that SNET, PrimeTel and Netway are controlled by the same people? Trust me, I know the industry well, and when I tell you Cablenet is the best, just go with what I say.

It is not a problem of paying the bill, they don't even know how much I should pay them for the various business services my company has signed up for.

I know I don't live in the UK any more, I have lived in Cyprus longer than any Cypriots under the age of 35, there are a lot of them!

http://www.cablenet.com.cy, the prices are listed there. The recently reduced their 10mb/s connection.

I don't know what to tell you, I know CableNet is the best. If I can't convince you otherwise then there is little I can say.

I think the person you spoke to in CableNet might have been an idiot, you get them everywhere, even in SpiderNet. The contract you signed should have stated the price you are paying anyway.

Personally I think you should reconsider with CableNet as their service is the best in Cyprus. I did notice that their English was weak, so this might be the cause of your communication problem.

Only those people who have tried ALL FOUR of these providers can possibly answer this question with any level of accuracy.

The prices for business services are not published there and despite getting an email telling me about the speed upgrade, when I called to ask them why I hadn't got it they told me it didn't apply to business customers who pay a lot more!

I've tried them all... CABLENET is by far the best and cheapest provider in Cyprus with shitloads of traffic. I've got 10mbit connection... for the same money i used to get 2mbit with Primetel + free of charge speed capping and retarded support.
