The Greek embezzlement of the cultural and historical...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby umit07 » Wed Apr 16, 2008 10:40 pm

OK GR, I am NOT a war monger! Getting but to the subject of culture, if you took language away I would say there is NO difference culturally between a regular GC and a TC. I was gonna mention religion but TC's are very lacks when it come to that, I see that the Church in the South is still holds a very strong influence on people. Thank god we TC's couldn't really give a damn about religion. Never even seen a TC imam ( Hoca ) in my life. Yes there was a advanced civilization in Cypus way before the Turks and Greeks, we have fields in Pergamos in the SBA zone full of ancient tomb graves, god knows how old they are. Unfortunately they are all empty now.

What do you think would have happened the TC's on the island if the coup. followed it's course GR? With guys like Piraitis who say that "Cyprus is NO different from Crete" I can imagine!

Cyprus is no different than Rhodes either, which joined Greece later in 1948 and also has a Turkish minority. So why you only remember Crete and not Rhodes?

Don't forget that what happened to the Turks in Crete was directly related to what happened to the Greeks of Asia Minor at about the same time.

Furthermore, and most importantly, the coup would not have succeeded because the great majority of Cypriots were against it. Many Cypriots died while defending Cyprus from the coupists and Makarios was at the UN condemning the coup. So there was no chance that the coup would succeed.

Furthermore, the coup collapsed immediately after the invasion. But Turkey continued with a second invasion, and still occupies Cyprus 34 years after their lame excuse expired.

The problem was Piratis that the GC's didn't want to go back to the constituition that Turkey was supposed to uphold. THat was the stupidest mistake the GC's ever made. If they had asked to go back to the original constitution, Turkey would have had to put it's willy between his legs and went back home.

I just wanted to mention that I fully understand your dilemma when you avoided the technically correct "her willy" for a "it's willy"... Image

Piratis how could I have references for something that never happened. All I am doing is making an assumption, which I think is correct!
