The Greek embezzlement of the cultural and historical...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

To those of you who mentioned a “Greek” or “Ottoman” colonization on Cyprus, here’s what a REAL ancient Cypriot colonization looks like so read it and weep…

Are you implying that there is a specific figure (number) that Unesco should have mentioned to make it "acceptable" to you???

2) that most of them didn't manage to have a continues presence on the island and they were extinct. Here is about Chirokitia for example:

The village of Choirokoitia was suddenly abandoned for reasons unknown at around 6000 BC and it seems that the island remained uninhabited for about 1.500 years until the next recorded entity, the Sotira group.

Choirokitia and Sotira are THE OLDEST they have found THUS FAR. This does NOT mean that they won't find anymore in the future or that just because they have lost trace of events the Cypriots became EXTINCT!!! You have manufactured that!

Piratis, your first Greek traders that came to the shores of Cyprus were trading with SOMEBODY and that is all the evidence you will EVER NEED that Cypriots were NOT “extinct”!!!

Look, I understand that some of you Greek Cypriots have been raised into thinking that your ancestors were fierce Spartan warriors or something, but the time has come for you to face the music because it was all Greek propaganda!

Your ancestors were simple folk who toiled the harsh slopes of Cyprus, while getting bitten by the Mediterranean mosquito from the many swamps that existed back then, just trying to survive.

You can still be proud of them though because against all odds they survived, despite the many malicious hotshots that came and went waving their stick, and left you the heritage of their little communal villages here and there, their unique alphabet, and what I consider to be their most important trait… their incredible tenacity! (<- hint for Piratis)

I'll write more detail of what WE inherited in a future post…

GR I will ask you to think a little ahead. Do you really think that you will be able to get Turkey off the island with military force? I don't think so.

Do you see Turkey as the only threat to Cyprus? Let's say the Cyprus Problem was solved, Turkey pasked up and left. Do you think that Cyprus will be safe in the event of another world war? Whatever happens Cyprus is obliged to have good relations with Turkey, that is a fact.

GR, from an ethnic point of view we are as Greek as it gets. Our language is Greek and our culture is a version of the Greek culture. Thats a fact and that it is how it has been for 1000s of years. As I said before the Greek culture is the culture with the longest by far history in Cyprus.

From a DNA point of view we are as mixed as everybody else is. So saying that our ancestors are those that existed in Cyprus before the Greeks came is ridiculous. We are the mix of them and many others. If thats not the case then what happened to the Greeks in Cyprus? They came, they didn't mix with anybody, and then they went extinct? Even if you were going to make this absurd claim, there are historical records that would prove you wrong.

I never really intended this thread to head in the direction of military confrontations so would you like to start one using your post? I promise to contribute if you do ok?

Hence why you can keep your "democracy" to yourself.

Thats what many others said, but we have been here for 1000s of years, and we are the ones who will be here in 1000 years from now. For you I doubt.

In fact there will be no such thing as "Turkish Cypriots" soon, just Turkish Settlers, and it will be only a matter of time for them to be forced out of our island just like it happened to the many other arrogant invadors before them.

Thats not how things work.

How do you think Greek territories and other Greek islands were liberated? How do you think a country like Latvia with 30% Russian population is now independent from the nuclear super power?

Things are not as straightforward as you think.

Turkey is a torn nation. Divided between secular Turks and islamist Turks, but also between Turks and Kurds. Also Turkey doesn't have any real friends, just those that ally with her because it currently suits them.

So don't be so confident just by judging based on what is happening now. Things can change dramatically.

The reason I posted this is that you started the thread with a statement that Cyprus needs a military allies. I opinion is that if the Cyprus Prob. is ever solved Cyprus will bcome a member of NATO, thus making Turkey it's closest and most important military ally.
